Default Radio unit replacement under warranty

Who has been able to have the radio unit replaced under warranty due to the peeling paint and what dealership was it. I am nearing the end of my warranty and I have battled two of the Caddy dealerships here around me already trying to get that radio unit replaced. It looks like ****. Both told me it was common wear and tear. Bull ****.

if factory warranty, they should at a minimum replace the ***** and buttons. there really isnt a need to ship out the radio.. i would call cadillac customer service if there are no other dealerships in the area.

if gmpp/extended type warranty, its 'cosmetic' and not covered.

worst case, i think the buttons are around a hundred bucks and ***** are ten apiece.you can pull and replace them yourself.

depending on the wear, a sharpie or permanent black marker work good for touch up. the ***** just pull straight off if you want to hit them with some kind of paint process

Wow thats shitty service I got my hole Nav changed for peeling buttoms. Just fight with them if you are still under warranty it is covered. GM has had the buttom issues for years and years and never addressed it.

yep, i had mine completely replaced under warranty a week after i bought it. they said if it wasnt under factory warranty then they wouldnt do it. Too bad now im under the certified warranty and two of the buttons are already staring to barely chip again, not even a year later. I may still take it back and be like look, its been a year WTF.

Thanks Stone.

I have a gmpp, so i guess I should not be too surprised with the dealerships not doing it.

I took mine in to Pat Lafontaine on M-59 for 1 button peeling and they replaced the whole unit without asking. I had less than 50k so I was on the normal factory warranty.

I highly recommend that dealer! Been there many times with great luck.

Call Jon Berry (Assistance Service Manager) and ask him.
Direct line - 248-714-1109

Good luck!
