The December Houston C&C was huge this time from what I heard. It was in a new location though.

It was PACKED!!! The new location is great, but an *** hat in a TT Viper lost it and did a donut on the feeder road leaving the parking lot. Hopefully the meet is still on for January and February.

On the flip side, I may get bored with it and go with twin turbos and a forged 383 down the road... Either way the car is being kept. I made the mistake of dumping eight grand into my '01 TA and then took a huge loss by not reselling the parts and trading it in on the V. God I feel like Farve here. Decisions...Decisions...

Edit: I would just pay the $5500 odd bucks(perfectly reasonable for the product), and do the install myself but metal fabrication is one area where I'm lacking short of grinding some edges and drilling holes. If a complete bolt-in kit comes along consider me sold.
If you send me your cradle I can modify it and ship it back. That would save some money. I can modify the cradles for $400. Plus shipping back to you.

I got the Monster clutch in Friday and plan to have it installed by next weekend so I will have the high rpm drops on the street for you real soon and depending on when the track is open will determine when I can get you guys the sticky launches. Many more vids to come though.

Gulf- I cannot even hear the diff inside the cab period- I will do vids of that too as soon as I can make me a camera mount. Chris really know how to set them gears well .

I may take a trip over there, do they still do the cars and coffee or has it been banned which is what I heard?

I need to get me some 20" drag radials asap, working on that now .
I didn't set up the gears, we use pre-built units from Strange Engineering.

That isn't bad. Does anybody know if a regular CTS and a V cradle are one in the same? If so I would just find a junkyard or ebay one.

true that...

which is where most the of the V1's problems come from. V6 platform, and lets stick a big V8 in the there...with out much thought beyond that.

Yep, it's like some of the engineers were out to lunch and said "hmmm....you know what would be cool? I've seen a few ls6 motors sitting around, let's stuff it in the CTS and see what happens."

I have a ctsv cradle I could modify and swap out on a core charge type of deal.

How strong are the factory cradles? I was wondering... If the cradle is one of the contributions to rear end failure? Why hasn't somebody designed a lighter and stiffer one? Similar in concept to say... a tubular k-member for a F-body. Any chassis engineers have any input? I understand that the cradle bushings are an issue, but what about the cradle itself?

I'm going to start a new thread once I get all the photo's and video rounded up. That way everyone doesnt have to read through 14 pages of posts to see what we are making.

The 9" is really taking off.
I have orders for another CTS-V, a 2010 Camaro (Twin turbo 1800hp) and a GTO (Twin turbo 1000hp) plus a couple G8 kits are in the works. Busy busy !

Thanks

KUDOS on the work so far. It's definitely overkill for someone like me who uses their V as 99.9% DD duties, but I wanna say that it's SUPER impressive to see someone took the time and had the ***** to take on the weakest link in the V1 and IMO it opens up a whole new avenue for power possibilities for a B@D@$$ ride that most people have not been able to keep together once they reach 500RWHP or so. Keep the vids coming.

Quick question, Chris...

I know this is designed for a CTS V, But would this be able to go into a STS V? It's a 06, and I have already broken one of the shafts on the rear end in the STS V.(pic below, new on the right, old on the left.)

It would be awesome if this would work. let me know! Great work btw!!!
