Thanks for the reply. $470 sounds like a steal. $650 is high enough to start an arguement for kooks maybe. Or possibly just going with the Pacesetter coating with thermal wrap for the spark plugs and starter.

a set of Kooks 1 3/4 (and 1 7/8) with cattless connector and no coating will run you about 1100.

edit: 1100 shipped.

That is for the headers and connectors coated. As above the kooks with catless connectors @1100 not coated. Coating usally 200 - 300 I've seen.

The kooks really don't need to be coated since they're stainless steel, the pacesetter's should be coated.

Ty is right about the coating on Kooks vs Pacesetter. i got mine coating to help keep the heat in the engine bay down. but if you live in the rust belt, or a place with a lot of weather changes, the coating will only stand to benefit both headers. but no coating will not hurt the Kooks in any way.

i spent a total of 250 on the coating, but that also includes the a coating on the mid pipes. 150 for the header coating and 90 for the mid pipe coating. the final cost breakdown for me was: 1 7/8 Headers $925.27, Mid Pipes with HF Cats $423.74, Jet Hot 1700 Coating $139.95, and Mid Pipe Coating $89.95. for a grand total of $1,578.92. some pacesetters would have set me about about 800 bucks less, but like i said above, i wanted 1 7/8 and the better material.

this is true...i found a couple sales, but i did wait to long to pull the trigger. the hardest part in to find someone that will do a cheap coating. i got mine from marylandspeed, and they were the cheapest for the coating price by a 200 to 300 bucks. couple places i talked want to charge me 500 for the same thing i got for 250 from MS. that one of the reason i went with them. with the coating the price would be the same, if not cheaper through MS.

ooo well...they are bought, paid for, and installed...and sounds sick nasty.

i am one happy camper. just got the dyno on monday, and i am back on the road.
