Thanks guys, i was kinda on the fence about blacking out the tail lights. at first i was totally gonna do it but now the only way i will do them is if i get them sprayed professionally. only because the way my turn signals turned out with the vht nightshades they are like flat and really a pain in the ***.

Yeah I would say painting them is the only way to go....I VHT'd mine and they had a hazy look, even after I wetsanded them...I had a buddy who owns a paint shop to clear them and they look like new, VERY high gloss. I have yet to do the side markers and headlights yet...When I do I'm gonna have him do them and save myself the time and headache. I tried having a set tinted on a car once and it looked GREAT...for about 3 weeks and 2 car washes....I don't think it was designed to hold up under the stress of dd'ing

yeah when i took the v in to get the windows tinted the guy said they do tail light tint too, so i said what the hell go ahead and do it. but when he was done it looked alright except around the edges where he said he cant get the film to contour around. there was a red strip all around the light, not only that he just cut a circle around the caddy emblem and called it done. needless to say i told him to take it off lol. just gotta go around and get some prices to get them sprayed

I did mine with VHT and they came out good. One key is too go darker than you want, wetsand with 1000, 1500, and 2000 grit. Then buff with compound & finish off with PlastiX. One other thing I do is use PlastiX every time I wash the car. Keeps them looking wet.

I'm probably gonna end up powdercoating them after I change tires as I assume they will get all scratched up from changing them. I got a quote for $60/wheel but I think I could find cheaper

Yeah I was quoted $100 ea by one place and $375 for a set of 4 by their competition....Who "guarantees" to be the lowest price in town...Well not "low" enough for me.
