For sure, the wagon is no substitute for a truck or full-size SUV, but it probably has as much utility as a mid-size SUV or cross-over like the SRX. One thing I like about wagons is that they are lower and sleeker than a SUV pushing all that wind, better for MPGs. Also, the way I see it, for the same price as a V2 coupe or sedan, you have more utility at minimal penalty in weight (~100 lbs). If you have small children using strollers and "stuff", the extra capacity of the wagon might just make the difference in how many christmas presents you can take home on a shopping trip (been there, done that).

Most of all, I think its great GM has ***** enough to offer a 556HP 6-spd wagon that can carve corners. You won't see Ford doing that. Ever.
Exactly, i have a 2 year old so i'm lugging around strollers and toys everywhere. And will have a 2nd kid by the time i'm looking for another car so the wagon is gonna be perfect for what i need.

Correct. They're too busy making boring FWD appliances that say "Lincoln" on them. In their defense, they'll probably sell more boring FWD appliances with Sync to baby boomers than GM will sell CTS-V wagons so what's important is that GM offers enough cars to stay in business so they CAN make the CTS-V derivatives, for us.

they will be more rare then people think. Caddy V production numbers are low for the sedan. they have average about 2,600 to 2,700 V sedan each year. highest number was 05 with 3,508, and lowest was 07 with 1,176 produced. 2,847 were made in 09. i would guess for 2011, 2,500 sedans will be made, 1,000 coupes and 500 wagons. i really dont see Caddy and GMPD making much more the 3500 V series.
