I say stipulations are we can use anything in our garages that are RWD sedans, with nav, and heated seats. That way someone on the board with a bimmer or a merc gets banned fo sho!

lol CTS-V only please and V1 too, I am not on the spray so we got to keep it fair; I only have a 12 sec ride. Not like we all have a race car here with our V1's or anything

....just some of us think we do, like ME .

Bimmer and Merc's are fair game too, yummy.

fyi, on the LS2 forum I am taunting the Grand National, owner who is a friend of mine, to try and get him to come to the track Sunday by telling him I would put a sack of groceries in the trunk to make it fair and will leave my sons car seat in the back (which I was planning on doing anyways as its a biotch to get in and out), lol. ~

He has 525 hp with an auto so I may lose but you never know since he only runs on street not drag radials and I love a good tough race!! I would rather a challenge and enjoy being the underdog! hehehehe....

I predict if you are beaten that your undoing will be a spooled hair-dryer and a floored brake pedal...

MIAdragon-its like $5,500 or so for the complete 9" IRS kit I believe but you can get with gforce1320 for exact pricing.

....putting on the drag radials now guys.... )

well I broke the Cadi today, these V1s are built like sh*t or maybe its the 4k launch that did it . Anyhow, I only got one run and it was with a 2.0 60 foot and 12.7 at 114 and then the next run I stuck it at 4k rpm and it hooked liked glue and went POW, lol. Oh well, here we go again. I knew the tranny was the weakest link and its probably the input or output shaft too. I will order the RPM stage 3 or 5 on Monday once my shop tears it down to confirm. Just got home, its been a long day.

I should have a couple of videos I can post tomorrow too.

damn...

not going to lie, its a little funny in some way. got to rear and clutch to handle it, and then the tranny goes. seems like its always something with these cars...

i may be done modding my V, and just get a V2 or a C6Z with the money i save.

dude for real, you have to upgrade everything on these cars. The V1s were really just meant for show and not too much go, lol.

Here is the vid from under the car. You can see that the 9" is bada** and does not move a muscle. This is the 12.7 pass which was pretty much from idle. I noticed something today when I hit the rev limiter in first and my tach was not even in the red. My tach needle is not keeping up with real rpms, I guess those 4.30 gears are making it hard to stay true. I should have another vid or two tomorrow from outside the car and the one with the BOOM too, lol.

UPDATE-the shop just called, its not the tranny. I broke the outer stub that was built with the rear. Chris w/Gforce is going to replace both sides for free today and use 4340 steel this time instead of chromemoly.

So here you go guys, now that I have tested it and found the weakest link you will now have a proven system that is rock solid.

Thanks for taking care of me Chris and being a top notch company to work with!!

Yep, I thought it might be the outer stub that broke. The Caddies use a 30 spline outer stub and we decided (after we built yours) to start making the outer stubs out of 4340 instead of chromoly and crank up the heat treat a bit more for a stronger stub.
So I'll get you a set of the stronger stubs sent out today.

Great vid by the way, that thing is rock solid

Thanks
Chris

When I broke my outer stub it was hard to tell at first just by looking at it because everything looks in place..lol. I had to reach under (in my business clothes no less) and grab the axles to see if they were the problem.

That's good news. Cuz now we know tranny can take some abuse.

ya for real serik because I stuck her at 4,000 rpm and she was going to hook up well. I think I have that vid too and will try to have them up for you by tomorrow.

Yup once you get the new outer stubs in it's back to the track and a 4500 clutch dump on the launch this time around.

no more track days for me my friend until I get the RPM tranny in. The stock tranny will not last long with my launches and I do not want to break down again.

I think you guys got the gist of 9", its an awesome piece! Just buy it or keep on breaking you stock stuff, lol.
