Does anyone know of a good kit to buy? I do not want one that uses the FM radio transmitter.

I have the USA SPEC PA11-vette but that has been updated with the USA SPEC PA15-vette. It uses the XM radio channels.

Its a module that plugs in and takes over your XM1 stations. (you can retain one set of XM stations).

I had one but was less than impressed for $120.00

Read here all about these units: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...apter-yet.html

Mine sounds just as good as a cd, and it charges my I pod while it plays, plus if you buy a seperate hook up you can plug anything with a 3.5 mm jack into it... My droid or any mp3 player.

The Ipod interface sounds as good as a cd, depending on the bitrate of the actual music on the device. The output from the ipod is through the dock connector, so its line level and not amplified. This improves audio quality since the music is essentially line level through a cable all the way to the amplifier. I have the unit mentioned above and I love it. Once you get the preset buttons set up, its a breeze to shuffle through songs. You can put it in direct mode to use the ipod to navigate around. It also has an aux input, so you can hook that up to a phone or whatever else.

I'm probably going to hook an A2DP Bluetooth to headphones adapter to the aux input so I can bluetooth my droid's navigation and phone and stuff to the car's speakers.

Here is a low buck mod to play anything with a 3.5 mm cable through the factory system:

http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answe...tch/index.html

FYI - it does work. I had a problem with the sound being gargled on the right side and have been told that I have the lead for the right crossed. I have not had the time to rectify that. Better than spending $100+ right off the bat.

the interface does sound WAY better then burned CDs, but not as good IMO as a store bought CD. i think that mainly has to do with volume leveling and the bit rate (like killernoddle said) of the digital audio files with burned ones.

I use the Neo Pro Link.

http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...apter-yet.html

It hooks up to the XM box under the back tray under the rear window. Its a bitch to get back there, but it works great. I had issues with it for a while. But it needs proper grounding to work properly.

And it sounds just like an Aux hook up would. Crisp and clear.

This is what I used on my '06 V. Very happy with it and it also plays bluetooth audio from my iPhone.

I bought the USA Spec used and have had very little issues with it. Install isn't the hardest thing I've ever done. I liked that it didn't involve any splicing. i ran it into the center console with a grommet.

It's a good sound overall. Better than what comes through XM for sure....
