I'm checking in. I haven't checked in here in a while since I started doing some work on my 79 T/A. I live line Loudoun County as well.
As far as VA cops, I don't think they are all that particular on who they nab. I haven't had any issues with either car and they are both loud and noticeable. I guess it depends on what area you are driving in. The roads I'm on they like to get the HOV violators. Easy money for them.
I did a Skyline trip with a few other friends early fall last year. Not as fun as you might think. 35mph limit, $15 to get in and LOTS of tourists stopping abruptly at every look-out point. I'd plan a route that doesn't involve that road and probably have more fun.

Just throwing out the idea of getting together a number of people and hitting up like a chipotle and chillin for a while.
Anyone interested?
No racing or burnouts or anything hooligan related. Just a chill car meet.

Can't make it up there this Friday...My sister is in town this week, plus the V has a hellacious trans leak that NEEDS to get fixed before I drive long distances.
