Default Dyno'd today

Went to see Geoff @ EPS this afternoon after our track rental was rained out. The first run showed 400hp/378tq but we saw that there was a small spike at the end. The three runs were all 391-392hp and 364-365tq. The numbers are a little low but I made the tune is a little safe and the drivability is just as good as stock. It drives w/o bucking from 1200rpms on up. So all in all I am happy with it. It was getting late and I forgot to ask for a printout but I did take a vid of teh first run.

I think this car has a bit more history than I thought. I found out it might have been in a wreck and will probably tear the motor down this summer as there have been some strange issues here and there with this motor...but all in all it runs strong.

Which tuning program are you using?
Safe tunes are always good
Sounds great!

Does seem a little low for that sized cam but as long as it runs good.

Dyno numbers don't mean squat. It's how the car performs. Sounds good.

It sounds like a nice car all things considered.

Dyno numbers can be a valuable tuning tool when you're comparing them to previous numbers from the same car/dyno/dyno operator. But outside of that, don't worry much about what the numbers actually are. Unless you're in a situation where you're expecting 500hp and you are only seeing 300. Then I might be a little miffed.

Thanks guys. The only thing I'm going to change on this setup are the injectors. I'm pushing 107% on the dyno and 110% on the street at higher speeds so no drag racing for me until I can find time to do that and retune it..lol. Later this summer ill start a bigger project so stay tuned

Enjoy it? I had the chance to buy a HP setup a few months ago to tune a friends Cobalt SS but he sold the car.
I'm debating on buying it anyway and using it on a few friends LSx cars.

So if you added a set of trickflow heads would you see around another 30rwhp or less?

with his cam, a more aggressive tune, and depending on the Heads...he could see another 30 to 50.

Not sure why I didn't notice this before but after noticing the manifold pressure dropping off and talking with Geoff a little more, it is pulling vacuum up top which is why it is dieing off after 6k rpms..lol. Now I just need to decide if I want to put a FAST/Nick Williams setup in it or s/c it. We shall see.

Get ready to swap out cams when you s/c it. Id just do a FAST and call it a day. SHould be good for 420 with a fast setup.

Swapping out the cam is no big deal. Its an easy thing to do. I've heard of a few people making decent power with big overlap cams and FI. I know on paper its not a good idea though..haha. I might try it just to try it and swap out the cam later or something.

I dont think people know as much about the "blower cam" specs as they think. I have seen a few D1SC f-bodies with a g5X3 cam (234/242) make the same power as the so called blower cams with 3-4 lbs less boost.

There was a guy that made 605 or so rwhp on only 6 psi I believe with this cam on a stock shortblock. The car never had the shortblock built as there was no need at only 6 psi.

^ I think I'm talking myself into that route. I know the whipples have been snatched up, but I might work with a local company on a tvs 2.3 or soemthing like that. I'll be leaving the car alone until this summer when I have some more free time to work on this
