Can someone post the letter? I have this problem and would appreciate the recall info so I can be sure to reference it.

I'll have to scan it when I get home. I have my car scheduled for the 15th. The letter states that you should make your appoint ON OR AFTER the 14th to ensure parts will be available. Below are some of the highlights of the letter.

"Your vehicle may have a condition in which repeated flexing of the Passenger Sensing System (PSS) mat in the front passenger seat may cause the mat to kink, bend, or fold."

"Your Cadillac dealer will replace the PSS mat. This service will be performed for you at no charge"

"If you have paid to have this condition corrected prior to this notification, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement." Requests for reimbursement may include parts, labor, fees, and taxes. Reimbursement may be limited to the amount the repair would have cost if completed by an authorized dealer."
"Your claim will be acted upon within 60 days of receipt of all required documents."

My letter basically states to wait for another letter that tells me when I should call my dealer.

If you are a new owner, may want to check out cadillac.com I think it is, to register yourself with them, so they can update you on things like this...

Paid to replace mine about a year ago....... WoW, Should get re-imbursed.

Dealer says I'm not in the recall even though I have an '05 and the sensor did have to be replaced. WTF .... can't believe that

Can't remember for sure, But I think it was like an $800 repair

Yeah... that would be nice. As sad as it sounds, someone will have to die as a direct result of diff failure first.

^^^ LOL!

Well, I took mine in to Sewell Caddy here in Houston. It's a small dealership, but everything was nice and clean. The staff was helpful (not to mention all of the hotties they have walking around ) and knowledgeable. They gave me a new CTS for a loaner with less than 100 miles on the clock. We'll see how it goes.

My car still not registered as I am in the middle of getting all the docs lined up. Does this affect all 2005, or is it a case by case recall? I guess I need to call the local Caddy dealer and find out if I need to schedule a visit.

The recall # would be helpful as TexVette mentioned.

Safety recall number 10355.
It states "Your 2005 year Cadillac CTS, VIN 1G6DN..., is involved in safety recall 10355."

i got the letter, but my VIN isnt listed as one of the cars affected.

the NHTSA Campaign ID Number: 10V644000.

call 1-866-982-2339 and enter the VIN, and you can find out if you have a outstanding recall for your car.
