Default Stock GM intake - what is this piece?

Hey,

Was about to install a Lingenfelter CAI intake tube on my new Lingenfelter kit, but was stopped by the fact that the tube doesn't have a port that will allow me to plug in the following rubber hose.

Can you help me identify the function of this piece of equipment, and determine whether or not I can leave it off (perhaps strap it elsewhere)?

You're right. Question still stands, since I don't want to tear apart my $75 OEM intake tube in order to get at the valve stem.

just drill a hole and place a nipple on your new tube. make sure you seal it and you should be good to go.

I didn't think the Lingenfelter kit included a new tube? It's just a shield and cone filter.

Remote reservoirs for front dampers. Based on those and the bright red Mallett 7.0L FRCs, it appears that Mr Log1c got his hands on a seriously prepped beast!
