I'll definitely be getting one, it is just a matter of when. There are a few things on the list to get to first.

Like I said before, I can do a group buy but it wont be $4500. shoot me an email @ gforce1320@gmail.com if your interested. If I get enough people then I would consider a discounted price for several kits.

Thanks
Chris

Shouldnt be much if any at all. The anti wheel hop axles really do a great job at killing it.
Might be just a bit from time to time but nothing near what it is with the stock axles.
All the wheel hop problems that have occured after our axle install were usually tire related.

Thanks
Chris

I think you're dead on. The tires I visited the track with are 300+ treadwear Bridgestone RE050's... they are a great street tire, but will not grip when truly pressured.

I'll be revisiting with Drag Radials at some point, but I intend on having two wheels widened so I can cram some 295's back there for those attempts.

The 9" seems bullet proof - I no longer cringe when I press the go-go pedal.

Wheelhop showed up at the end of my tire de-wettings and on WOT 1-2 shifts. 1-2 shift wheelhop caused considerable ET loss and forced me to repeatedly feather the throttle on the shift.

I also was unable to leave at anything above idle as trying even 1000 RPM force me to either abuse the clutch more than I wanted or let off the throttle in order to maintain velocity.

All runs were done before 9:00PM so... I missed out on making any cool air runs.

When I return it will be on DRs or Slicks...
What is a "de-wetting"? Surely, you are not rolling through the water and doing a burn out on a regular street tire ... ! ... ?

Driving around the box still gets water on your tires at my local track... So I do a quick tire turnover and then stage. It is far from a full fledged burnout.

I could be wrong but thought wheel hop is at its worst when you actually get a little traction. Going to s sticky tire will only exacerbate the problem?

Ahhhh ... gotcha. That's too bad they don't leave the option to bypass the waterbox. I see so many doing burnouts and even water burnouts on street tires at the strip I was just checking. A quick tire roll over is all that's needed to clean the tires off as you mentioned. Someone should tell some of these racers that you cannot heatup a street tire. They are designed to do the exact opposite ... not heatup!

This is exactly what you are supposed to do. Little more than a 1-2 second chirp of the tires. Clears debris and water you may have picked up but does not really add heat to the tires. Long burnouts are done to warmup the tires. in the case of street tires you can overheat them and actually make them not only lose grip but also possibly chunk and come appart on the smaller tread blocks.

I'm no expert, but the hop that I am getting seems more of a traction loss issue - where the car previously would just scratch it now has enough power to turn into a rolling burnout - at the track it only hops on a WOT 1-2 shift - I believe it is the tires trying their best to catch traction - as a non WOT shift allows for a no wheel hop shift to be had.

Its worth my investment to get better tires anyway and wider wheels anyway - as if this is not the issue I will keep battling until I find it and it is resolved.

I hop on 1-2 and 2-3 at the track and on the street, but if car kinda kicks sideways and just barely fishtails while in the gas there is zero wheelhop and it just burns through the tires. I've been wanting to pick up the 9" and turn this more into a project but a new house has to come first according to the wife
