Default Clutch pedal stuck to the floor temporarily after donuts???

Ok guys, I was playing around in the V tonight and cut a couple half *** donuts in a wide open parking lot. Afterward, it was hard to pull the car out of first and I noticed the clutch pedal was stuck to the floor. I pumped it and lifted it back up with my foot and it went back to normal. What would cause this?

Same thing happened awhile back after running it against another car on the freeway. When I was done and exiting, noticed the pedal didn't feel like it was releasing like it should as it would only come half way up. It went back to normal so I never worried about it but what would cause this?

only thing I could think of is it's going out

Check ur clutch fluid too. Don't be too alarmed if it's a darkish color cause that will happen 30 minutes after you change it. Just make sure it's full

the fluid thing makes sense since it is a hydraulic clutch..... No fluid, no recoil

That used to happen to me all the time. No reason why, I'd just pump the pedal back up and be ok. One time I was out of fluid though.

Thanks for the help fellas! I will check the fluid ASAP and make sure it's full. I actually have a new clutch and flywheel in my garage waiting to be installed. Initially I thought I smoked the stock one but then it went back to normal after pumping it. I'll prob plan to swap the new setup in within the next month or so. I've just been waiting for a reason to do it... Lol

It's happened to me a couple of times now....First time was at the track on a 90+ deg night. I added some new fluid and flushed all the old out....Didn't happen again for about 20k and then I made a couple passes down a mountain rd with some HARD banging of the gears and I had to wait on the side of the road about 10 mins until it cooled off and would come back....Last time was on "last tire day" which is always an event including some spirited driving and donuts.....I had to shut the car down still in 2nd gear since it was hung so badly.....I'd have to agree that the stock clutch needs an improvement. I think mine is just saying "DAMMIT MAN...That's enough already!"

I had the same problem in my '01 z06. When I would shift hard it would stick to the floor. The clutch wasnt able to support the mod's I had on the car, once I changed the clutch and fluid no more issues! Sounds like you have your excuse to get under the car and swap it out.

Same thing happens if I do a 35K launch! I can actually feel the clutch coming up or down based on how high up the RPM's are when I'm getting on it! I let off the gas and I can feel the clutch start lifting up again...

Same problem here. I assume it just needs some fluid

Went through same problem on my buddies GTO. It had a pin hole in the line. Replaced the line & used gm clutch fluid to flush & refill. Many burnouts later & has been just fine.
Meaty, maybe you just need a better "chip". lol

Our CTS-V kit is in development. Hoping to release it before the end of the year!

GM had a TSB (technical service bulletin) about this very issue. You would have to find that document to see if your car is covered under the TSB.

Bottom line, there is something wrong in the design of the clutch, hydraulic lines, etc. and this happens to a lot of older Vs on stock clutches (not necessarily high miles though). After I upgraded my clutch to the Monster kit, I haven't had any more problems.
