I could have done a v2, but wanted a v1 just for the fact that its more of a hotrod in my my opinion, and of course a lot cheeper! I personally like doing all the mods to make it a go fast car, of course it may never do a 10 in the quarter like a moded V2 but the V1 is still my choice of 4 door hotrod. V2 is a little to classy for me!

I traded in my V1 for an auto V2 and never looked back. A buddy of mine has a modded IS-F ... nice car. We did a few runs when I met up with him in Tucson a few weeks back. The V2 is definitely quicker from a dig and at speed.

PS - the auto V2 is quicker than the 6spd. Now my kids and my wife love to drive it ... not so sure that's a good thing.

I like the look, but not the price for what you get.
The V2 is in another league all together.

Glad to see they went back to their 5.0L roots though! Better engine, better modding.
and slap on a TVS2300...tons of power.
Though, one could argue.. CNC heads, intake, cam, everything is done already to get to that power level.
I dont know.. err I mean, I do know.. (slithering_)

The 5.0 is an outstanding car. The problem now is that everybody and their brother is going to have one, and they are capable of laying the smackdown on most stuff on the street. I have to hand it to Ford there.

The V2, is one of the BEST cars ever constructed, regardless of make model or year. I've driven some of the "worlds best"...and I gotta tell you, the V2, is amazing.

Amazing.

Best Cadillac ever.

Biggest thing that will keep me out of a V2 is the weight, they need to cut that down to even v1 weight and it would be an all around better car.

Still an awesome car though

I drove a V2 with the Recaros but it was an auto....I LIKED the car, but not 35g's more than my car liked it. I was NOT a fan of the seats. I'm 6'3" and no matter how I adjusted the seats and headrests I couldn't get comfortable. Also when the screen was up for the nav/radio it created a HUGE distracting blind spot....Now in saying that it is a MUCH more refined car, but a LOT different car than the V1. I like and appreciate some of the rawness that the V1 offers.

If you are stuck between V1 and V2 get the V2. The V1 will never be what the V2 is without spending a lot of money.

In hindsight i wish I would have went that route but I am too far in to change paths now !!!!

grab a 2010 or used 2011 gt500 for high 30s

problem for me with the boss is you cant get the navuigation, and the nav unit(sync) makes the new mustangs interior, without nav you may as well buy a 94-04 mustang cause the interior is just as crappy.

IS-F is a great car! I didn't realize they were that quick. I've seen some used ones for good prices. The V2 is coming down in price now though too. Used ones can be had easily in the low 40's now and some even in the 30's if you don't mind a few miles. The new mustangs are nice and run well for what they can be bought for! Haven't looked at the new boss but i know the gt500's are great cars and make nice power. I personally wouldn't spend the money on either though. The V2 is the entire package with both performance and luxury! Easy to mod and make big power without sacrificing the manner of the car. If i was going to spend $40k on a car, i'd be in a V2 for sure! I'm a big Ford or GM fan so i'd have a hard time going with the IS-F. And... if i was going to buy a mustang... I'd find a low mileage 03/04 cobra with a whipple swap or turbo setup making 700rwhp or more for in the $25k range. Mustang wise... Terminator > All IMO. I miss my 03!

An E60 M5 is also an option. They sound incredible with just a muffler delete. Hard to beat a formula 1 based motor in a sedan.

Hey Red... I don't get on this board too much and happened across your thread this morning. You say you're going to work in Malta? I'm also from the Capitol District area... 30 miles south in Hudson. Do you drive 90 at all south/east of Albany? Just wondering because a few weeks ago I saw a V1 on 90 as I was getting on 90 east out of Troy and saw this V until Nassau exit... There was a red ricer in between us and we were doing a good bit over the speed "recommended" by NYS... lol Long story short, I run with my v1 (Valentine) and we got hit with IO LEO at Nassau... he was getting on and funny thing... he picked out the red Honda and left the two Caddies alone... thought that was funny and ironic in a SAVE MY *** KINDA WAY... ha
I tried another approach… bought an ’06 XJ8 for a cruiser/DD thinking it would take my wife’s attention away from driving the V… it worked too good… now she won’t get out of it and I’m stuck (not a bad thing) driving my 6-speed still… Guess I’m going to have to save some coin and get a V2 down the road in a couple of years… I was thinking of keeping my V1 and buying a V2 once the prices hit 30ish… but then it means adding on to my garage… never drive the cars in the winter around here… also have a Jeep GC for bad days… The best thing is all are paid for which also brings me to a question… why don’t you keep your V1 along with getting the V2? Best of both worlds if you can swing it… Just saying… good job… new job… secure job… paid for V1…

Congrats on the new job... I chose the wrong degree program four years ago...

Please show me where someone is getting 640 with those mods. A cat back and ported blower WILL NOT GET YOU 640 to the wheels.

to get to 640 you need either an upper or lower pulley, cai, injectors, cam and 1 of the 3exhaust, headers, ported blower.

To the OP,

The V2 has actually stayed really good in prices and everything, and I think KBB even raised the price the last few months.

My brother has a v1, and I have the v2. They both have their pro's and cons but for the money you can't beat the v2. you can put 550 to the wheels for so cheap. An upper pulley, CAI and a tune and you have 550. I'd add injectors to it as well, but if your tuner knows what he's doing you don't need to.

a V1 will never touch that. Even with a maggie on it you still can't hang with the v2.

Thanks bud. I dont believe it was me you saw. My car is black with 20" black wheels with polished lips. Might have been though.

If I keep the V1 i will get a C6Z to be honest to go with it. Just dont need or want 2 cars like this but really like the V1 for some reason.

so yea, you build them up... the 2012 Boss is MORE than the 2012 GT500.
Laguna package etc...

Canadian price: 2012 Boss: 61,162 - laguna package
2012 GT500 : 59,924 - SVT package

(also note, why I dont buy anything up here.. ripoff prices..)

Hmm, Boss for 60K... yea, thats expensive.
