Default V2 sold for $36,900

Would have bid on it if it was a manual.

That is not bad at all ... my only issue would be the tax on top of the sales price. The way I read the deal, the buyer would be purchasing it from the dealer and NOT the owner. That's $2,600 in my County plus any doc fees and other dealer charges that many add on.

Just wait until they change one little thing to the v2's in the coming years. Then the gen 2's will drop in price even more

YEP.....Dupli-Color high performance wheel coating. I scuffed them with a scotch brite and wet sanded with some 1,200 grit. 3 coats=4 cans of paint. 5 coats of satin clear.....People said that it wouldn't hold up, well that was 50,000 miles ago. They do need a touchup where I curbed one and the guy at the tire shop raped one mounting the tires....But I'm in for less than $50 total. WIN!

sounds kinda bad if it is that low already...what about the vehicles in its class? i doubt that have dropped like that and they cost more then a v2. c63, e90m3, isf... etc.

i dunno since i havent checked for the other cars but it isnt nice.

isf...is that even in the same class as the V2? Seems like the V2 was targeted to go against the M5, E63

I have a strong feeling if this car was a manual, the price would have been a lot higher.

you can aim high all you want, but the cts is an entry level luxury vehicle. a great one and a proper foundation for the V to be built on. but at the end of the day it has its market competitors.

im sure companies are using the v2 as benchmark vehicles as well.

but with the upcoming atx which is sliding into the cts's normal vehicle class, the cts will climb into the 5/a6/e class grouping. but thats for the next chassis to battle out.

I dont know man...I do not see Caddy shooting at the M3, ISF and C63 and I am pretty sure that Caddy was aiming straight for the M5 when they designed the V2. Which is why they gave it such a powerful engine, and made so much press when it ran the Ring as fast as it did.

Maybe when/if Caddy release the ATX-V that will aim at the C, a4, 3 series.

IMO Caddy was shooting right for the M5, S6, E63 when they designed the V2. But what do I know, I only own a V1...

One would have to assume with going to the larger size of the current cts, they had plans to move it up a level. but like the first gen cts, the 2nd gen cts was a larger car at a entry level price.

but the vehicles class competitors are already determined once you build the base model. some people would like to say that a m3 can run with some 911 models, but that doesnt make it a 911 competitor. at my job and my last job the V2 was using and spoken about in many meetings when it came to discuss upcoming vehicles, but using the v2 as a bench mark doesnt make it a vehicle in the same class.

so to wrap up im sure gm had a performance benchmark in mind, and to keep the vehicle relevant you have to over estimate what the next set of competitors would be like. but the physical vehicle is still in a certain class which is hard to change.

also on tracks aside from the ring (which has that massive back stretch that high hp cars shine on) the v2 and the e9x m3 are very close time wise. different cars, different ways to go around a track fast. but still very comparable.

I think there is some eBay effect in play here too, especially with the semi-strange trade-in purchase deal... Plus it has more then "typical" miles and probably needs a new front bumper. (still good to know the price is coming down)
