It's a GM product. Imagine the absolute crap they would still be making if Bob Lutz hadn't pulled GM's executives heads out of their collective asses. Those arrogant MBA wiseguys did a remarkable job of driving a once thriving auto manufacturer right into the toilet, and the arms of the federal government.

I made a thread about this not too long ago. A friend's V did this at about 120. I haven't broken 100 in my V (thanks Atlanta traffic) and I'm prayin it doesn't ever happen to mine.

This thread has ruined my high speed driving, well, for a little while anyway! We will all be happier when we can buy V2s

You guys all need to look on the bright side...

A friend of mine bought a "new to him" Subaru WRX and had it for about 2 weeks. he came down one Tuesday night for my car meet, and on the way back home he decided to "top it out" on the interstate. Previous owner was **** about maintainance and taking care of the car. Had 40k miles on it...

He ended up starving the motor of oil, and spun a rod bearing... Apparently they have a problem with oil not draining back out of the head quick enough... he found out the hard way.

At least we can top it out and only have a few things fall off and still do it again a week later!

i dunno their have been a handful of engine/diff failures that people have suffered, which for a low production number vehicle it isnt good to hear.

I dont know how you guys can get up to 130 and it be quiet, my sunroof/roof makes such a wild wind noise its unnerving

I did pull 150 for quite some time down the freeway about 4-5 weeks ago. No problems. Stable as ever and felt like I was going 25. I did notice while changing my oil that I was missing push clips on the splash guard behind the front air dam. I believe this was from the previous owner though.

They aren't use to the absolute quietness of a Bimmer at those speeds.

I bought a used 09 V. Got up the next morning and was going to do the muffler delete , so i cut the mufflers off and got ancy so i took it for a ride (so i could hear her).. Then on the way home i rememered they are supposed to go 191mph.. so i went to a straight road near my house and got on her... I remember looking down at 180 at the speedo and looking up for about 2 seconds and out the corner of my eye i see this big black thing flying in the air!!
Turned around and went back, and there it layed, my back bumper.. drove right to gm dealer and bought 650$ in parts... about 5 days later and a nother 265$ for paint it looked like new.

SOOOO dont cut the exhaust off and go on a beat run.. the heat started the foam on fire behind the bumper and with the extra pressure hitting the out sides of the bumper it pushed the sides out and make it like a big kite at 185ish mph..

SOOO the money i tried to save from not buying a cat back i spent on a new rear bumper.

and at 180 it was as smooth as a babys ***..

Quick Reply: 120 mph run and pieces started flying off the V!!! LOL
