120 mph run and pieces started flying off the V!!! LOL
I've ran the V up to 166 in the past, but a couple days ago I made a 130+ or so run and the piece of plastic under the front that goes between the bumper and the front frame....Splash guard??...Came off....It was flopping so that I thought I had a tire going down. I had to pull over and rip it loose on the side of the road. So I bought the correct clips and put it all back on "the right way" LOL and honestly never thought of it again. Well today on the way back from a road trip to Knoxville, Tn I made a pull to around 120 against a SRT8 Charger and the splash guard and the inner fender both came off and flew about 1,000' behind me. Now I have to buy new parts but I was wondering if any of you have had your cars just blow apart??

Well I was used to the SUPER quiet as well. Once something that's supposed to be there is banging off the ground and against the car that sure changes in a hurry...LOL... Mine does have 117k on it, but until about 3 weeks ago she was tight and quiet. Still SUPER quiet in the cabin....I don't wanna get too crazy now until I get the pieces replaced due to the way that the air flow has changed.

These Caddys spent a lot of time in wind tunnels during their design phase, I'm sure. So it becomes impossible to know what will happen when large exterior pieces are no longer present. My friend's 05 became harshly loud when a small piece of the sunroof broke. We compared and found the 06 'roof to be slightly different in design. I have kind of a spring loaded piece in the front, with the roof retracted that his doesn't have.

I'm pretty sure every car is susceptible to this... who knows maybe it's factored in by the manufacturer because they know for a fact people are gonna drive this car hard at times ... gotta make that extra $$ LOL

Yep.....I KNOW that the pieces were put back in the right order....BUT there was something that caused the splash guard to come off the first time. I checked it "good" when I had it up replacing all the clips. You can GUARANTEE next time it will be put back with clips and zip ties LOL.....The sunroof story reminds me of my uncle's 90s Vette with the targa style top. He let me take it to prom 11th grade and of course I ran it up to 130 or so and apparently the latches weren't closed the right way....Well let's just say when that HUGE *** piece of fiberglass flies out you'll think that you're coming out of the seat and going with it.....I had to work all summer to replace it. And NEVER got to borrow the Vette again

Now you KNOW you're driving a genuine General Motors product when **** starts falling off lol
I let my x girlfriend take my Miata up to Tampa one day. Her and her mom "latched" the top befor she left to come back home... needless to say, I no longer had a good top when she arrived back here.

Always embarrassing to have **** fall off the car when racing somebody. Mine came off doing about 70 one day and it's been sitting in the garage since then. Haven't noticed a difference. I thought it was just to keep water off the motor. Mine is rarely ever driven in the rain.
