So far i'm off to a good start! I've pulled the battery retainer clip from the old fob and soldered it to the new fob put the battery back in and checked if it still worked on my car and it does. Next trick will be fitment inside the new casing and button trickery.

The keys you can program yourself. I know this because I did it... just have to have the dealer cut it for you... or someone cut it.
Just start the car with your old key, shut it off and start it with your new one, let it idle a little bit and good to go.

So as you can see you will need to shave down a lot of the interior to get the original FOB to work I also used a piece of Styrofoam and cut it to fit in the bottom half of the FOB and prevent the circuit board from moving around inside the plastic casing. I would also recommend shaving off as much of the top of the circuit board as possible. I shaved right up to the power/signal trace. This allows the circuit board to sit in a much better position relative to the fixed button location. For the trunk button, I used the emergency horn button, sliced off the small metal "button" and the centered it with the trunk pad on the circuit board and super glued it in place, so far so good!

Generating an interest list and maybe going forward with offering this as a service based on that. Let me know if you would be interested in this service. I would require you to send me your core FOB and preferably i would let you source your own new FOB.
