Default Kooks headers question?

Just bought some kooks to install with my B&B catback. Anyone done this combo and have some feedback on the fitment?

Also I live in Seattle and I am torn between wrapping the headers or wrapping things away from them due to all the rain?

Any advise would be great.

Thanks,

Dave

Dave,

I am just finishing up an install of Pacesetters for a guy here in Seattle.

Not sure about kooks on the fitment but the pacesetters had a finger of clearance with the steering shaft on the driver side and were contacting the aluminized cloth sleeve on the brake lines on the passenger side.

Everything else looks pretty damn good for clearance but wrap or creative heat shielding may be needed for longevity of components close the the headers.

He wants them wrapped so they are getting wrapped.

PM me if you have any questions.

This is what is coming but not sure which cats I have. Got a deal on CL.

Any worries with the wrap with all the rain here?

those are the same ones I have. just be sure to disconnect the battery before you disconnect the steering shaft. you will deploy airbags if you dont. and thats a world of pain.

I disconnected my steering shaft without popping the air bags.

Yes installing myself no problems there. Anyone have this combo? I am trying to figure out what I am going to need to connect the 2.5" cats to the 3" B&B and if I am going to kill some hp if I don't make it 3" all the way through?

I wouldn't wrap them. If anything, have them ceramic coated. I would test fit them first tho.

Lots of people say this...I wrapped mine 2/3's the way down (just the portion that are in the engine bay) and everything seems fine. I did not want to full wrap them and have them get wet from road spray etc. I recently pulled back a portion and it actually looked better than the part of the headers that were not coated. Noticeable reduction in under hood temps also.
