CTSV Question
My car, a 2009 CTSV, ripped apart the supercharger drive belt like due to a failed tensioner.
Question - can I drive it out of my parking garage to be towed?
It would appear the drive belt only drives the SC not accessories.
Thoughts?

You should be able to drive it without a SC belt. It's gonna be dog-*** slow and sluggish so don't bother trying to go anywhere in a hurry with it. Putting around your neighborhood or just driving it to a spot where it can be towed is fine.

I drive with the SC belt off my 09 all the time. Car is much easier to handle that way. Not as scarey on the track either. Don't want to wreck another one!

Its at Lindsay right now. Dropped it off with a new Green Gate belt. While I could have put the belt on myself, I want them to check the pulleys to make sure none of them are failing.
jcollege - Have you done any mods?

Heh, other than your 350Z, you and I seem to keep having the same taste in cars... I've seen you on Corvette Forum, and now here with a V. If you don't remember, I'm Bob, I had the red Aurora at that 350Z detail day Mike and Kelly did like 5+ years ago. We took some scratches out of your orange Z's rear decklid.
The reason there are two belts is so that the supercharger belt won't affect everything else. That's something I really like about the factory setup vs most aftermarkets. I don't have a V2, but our old S/C Buick V6 used to destroy idler pulleys every 6-12 months. When it happened, you'd just drive without a supercharger.
It doesn't hurt anything, but I suppose long-term there would be no supercharger oil circulating. I don't think I'd remove it for a year or something, but short-term the car should drive fine.
The drama/bullshit has really stepped up the last couple weeks. Not sure why it continues.

Update from Lindsay: One of the idler pulleys came loose and pulled out of the front engine bracket.dum We need to replace the pulley and rethread the bracket.dum We don’t have the pulley in stock but we can overnight it and have it here tomorrow, I already told parts to go ahead and order it.dum Total cost for the repair will be about $400.00.
