I went through two sets of GM gaskets with my kooks and they NEVER sealed. Got the felpro from advnaced and never looked back. They were thicker so any imperfection in the flange they were able to seal.

Default Kooks Gaskets

+1 on the GM gaskets (with some qualification as follows)!

The GM pickup gaskets have round ports that are large enough for a 1 7/8" pipe and will seal better than the oval port gasket type found on other models.

If you have the D-port 1 7/8" Kooks, use the stock LS7 Y-car gaskets.

Instead of the Kooks-supplied bolts, use new GM bolts, the type with the green threadlock on the threads, and follow the factory torque sequence and they won't loosen.

Mine had no leaks when installed or since, and they've been on the car since the summer of 2006.

yep they're badass gaskets, they're almost like a metal with a slight foam in the middle... very good deal.

FelPro gasket at Advance and they're only 11 bucks.

FWIW, you're best to do plugs and wires while the exhaust manifolds are off. You're likely gonna break more than one plug taking them off.

throw plugs and wires in, type in VISA as your coupon code for 50 off of 150, or BIG30 for 30 off of 75, or P20 for 20 percent off your entire order.

It's a good practice to always take the plugs out before pulling the manifolds/headers. Breaking a plug isnt a big deal, but if you only crack the insulator you will wind up with random a misfire that's hell to track down.

But I agree, if the plugs are old its a good time to replace em.

It's a huge bitch to get those plugs out with the exhaust manifolds on.
