Is stock exhaust 2.5"? Who makes a 3" exhaust??
I can't remember if the stock exhaust (catback) is 2.5" or slightly smaller. If its 2.5", a 2.5" catback won't do anything more for me. Is there a gain to be had on a car with my mods by running a 3" catback?
I'm thinking a nice 3" catback with some electric cutouts for when I want it really loud would be nice. It's just a little much the way it is right now. I like it but the neighbors hate me coming in late at night. Lol

Stock is stainless 2.5", B&B makes the only 3" that I know of and its a total waste of money unless your making stupid power. Just buy cutouts and have them welded in. I put a DMH on my car and have no complaints.
Buy some maganflow straight through mufflers to have welded in as well itll be like 175 for just the mufflers.

Billy Boat is the only premade one that I know of. You could always drive down to an exhaust shop and let then weld on up. The V has really straight runs so it shouldn't cost an arm and a leg.

To be honest my corsa sport is already starting to irritate me after the header instal. Gets too loud for me past 4k rpm. I am also catless. Couldn't imagine the car louder, id have to cut the headers off. Cutouts are loud yet can be closed off which makes them a nice investment...

Exactly why I think I'm going to run the regular offset/center stainless magnaflows with magnaflow tips and then get cutouts so I can have it loud when I want it loud and subtle when I don't want the noise.

Stainless works makes a full exhaust system too. i got the full system, including headers/wcats used for cheaap
I agree 3in is not necessary but it sounds badass.. Fitment is good but you really have to manhandle it on a jackstands or a lift to get it all lined up and tight to the underbody.

We make a nice 3" system for the car. The market at the moment loves 3" but a lot of cars really don't have to have a system that big.
We feel that a 2.5" dual system becomes restrictive at about 500hp. Stepping up to a 3" could help the car out especially if you go with a chambered muffler to quiet it down some so your neighbors become friendly again. Add cut outs for when you want it crazy.

I run a single 3" downpipe into a cutout, and then into a single magnaflow straight through muffler dumped at the axle. I lost 30rwhp with the cutout closed. I personally dont see the actual dual 2.5" piping becoming restrictive it would be the mufflers if anything.

Talkin about the cobra? I'm assuming so since I don't see any way to make a single 3" system work on the V. Lol I'll need 2 2.5" cutouts for this one. And ur right... I don't see how dual 2.5" would be any more restrictive than single 3". It prob is the muffler if anything.
Guess I'll just run cutouts after the headers for "business" and then just get a nice pair of muffs and tips so it will be more subtle when needed.

Yeah... I'm the same way. Love it loud so u can hear the cam hittin but at the same time, a quiet pair of mufflers for highway drives and late night entries to the neighborhood would be nice.

I'll see what I can do for ya. 8.8 was installed by my buddy who I bought the car from. I'll see if he has some helpful info for ya. And I love the cam. Wanted bigger (like the MS4) for sound purposes only but my cam sounds stout and runs extremely well
