I take it prices are up to the normal amount now or will they still give us the deal if we order soon?

What's the word on trailing arms? I think we've established that if it's lowered, we need to upgrade. What if I monster truck it for a bit? Will I need to replace them anyway?

I'm not sure. Take a look at these pictures and see what you make of them. The first and last were taken by me when my rear was off the ground. I know for a fact that when I take the car off the jacks, those trailing arms flatten out a lot.

I'm not sure what the delta is on the change in clearance from normal ride height to lowered, but regardless, it's going to be freaking close with the F14's protruding 19mm closer to those trailing arms.

Damn! So to run these with H&R's, I'll need trailing arms too now?

That blows! What trailing arms will clear them and what's the cost looking like on those?

To clarify: you'll have another 5mm more clearance than you will with the LC855s. Forgestar picked the offset such that you don't have to buy trailing arms, but I don't think that they realize how aggressive some of our drivers are.

Talk to Rand49er--he has a lot of experience with this and can set you straight.

Ok. Well I'd like to run a wide tire out back so if i need to get trailing arms to do so, i will. I guess ill search online to get an idea of what i'd be looking to spend on them. If those are the only issue with clearance, id rather just upgrade them to avoid tearing up the wheels/tires.

You have seen the KillerNoodle ordering thread on the Cadillac Forums right? If you want a very mild trailing arm upgrade, it'll set you back less than $200.

I haven't seen it but ill look. Thats not bad at all. I dont think ill need anything extreme. Just need something that will clear those wide 19's with about a 295/30 on them.

Speaking of tires, what's everyone thinking of running on these?

I'm thinking 295s out back, 255s front? Don't know, need to check the ratios and prices.

I'm playing it by the book...245/40-19 up front (0.04 diameter difference, and 9.65" width) and 275/35-19 (-0.01 diameter difference, and 10.83" width) in the rear.

Why would you go 35/30% on the sidewall height? The only thing that looks worse than big balloon tires are wheels that are way too small for their fenders/wheel wells.

Overall diameter is about the same as what dudesweet is planning on running. Just wider.....

I couldn't agree more. But at 35, I'm closest to OEM diameter. And I don't need to tell you that it's 35% of 275. I think I lose about 1/2" on the sidewall height compared to OEM tires, which is about .10" off from what I lose on the front tires (245/40-19).

But back to your point...I absolutely HATE too small or too large sidewall. I just don't think this will have that look. I'll do a little more research.

This guy on Vette forums was using 245/35/19 (19x8.5 38et) and 275/30/19 (19x10 44et). I guess the thing I'd question is whether or not 275 is wide enough to get a straight sidewall instead of the turtle action.

285/35-19 doesn't look too bad either. A little farther from OEM diameter, but not by much more than 275/35-19.

The OEM CTS-V tires are 245/45-18.

The correct sidewall profile for the 19" Forgestar F14s is 40% front and 35% rear, for a tire OD of just under 27".
