I'm beginning to think it's a Cadillac issue, not a hood issue. This is a Specter Werks hood too, same spot, same gap. Although, his gaps all around the top look WAAAY cleaner than mine.

They are correct the hood comes with the vents just sitting over top. If you want them blended in as you see in skydivers silver v pic they will have to be dropped into the hood followed by some putty and 2-3 hours of blocking the hood. This bodyshop thing is for lazy ppl imo. If you have any kind of sanding skills and are able to work with some bondo/putty it can easily be done. Nonetheless it is tedious and a pain in the *** but doesn't require much skill. The vented would probably take a full day of prep work, off and on, waiting for the putty to dry in between wet sanding. If you are on top of your sh*t I couldn't see the ventless hood taking more than 3-4 hours of prep work before primer and paint. To me the vented hood is more appealing so it is the route I am going to take knowing there are prep sacrifices to be made. Different strokes for different folks

I think the vents look ok but they belong on a Honda IMO.

The silver ventless one looks very similar to the Spectre Werks PowerDome hood. Google is your friend. These vents look spectacular. Neversatisfied's comment makes me wonder if he's seen vents on an import before.

Lol! Wasn't meaning to offend anyone. I just prefer the simple and clean look of the cowl without the added vents but to each their own. It looks good... Just not my preference.

Spectre Werkes PowerDome hood ($1300 for fiberglass like the EC hood, or $1700 for carbon fiber):

That looks nice. Looks clean and simple but aggressive at the same time. I don't like that extended front lip though.

Damn, even the SW images show the gap on the passenger side too. It has to be a Caddy issue.

I think if that lower lip were just a tad shorter, it might look cooler.

One other thing to note about these hoods (at least my SW):
You can't easily flip up the wipers to the locked up position. It hits the raised portion of the hood in the back. I flipped it up & promptly scratched that back edge!

Absolutely love the hood w/o the vents.

Absolutely hate the gaps.

considering Id be spending 1300 or so on the vented doing the work myself maybe the cf hood would be cool cause I wouldnt have to do anything to it. But then again 1700 is outrageous for a hood. The new V hoods don't even run this high. Like the SW products but think they are at least 30% overpriced.

It's pretty simple. They were going to buy a stock hood for $750 (used or LKQ or whatever), I asked the body shop to buy the SW instead & I would pay the remaining balance.

TADA!

Not to mention the prep/paint/finish! MWAHAHA, but I did have to subject my car to a vicious hail storm & drive it around looking like a golf ball for a month.

All told, the body shop visit cost about $16k. $2.2k out of my pocket, but that got me a hood, rear spoiler, and 95% new paint (no bumpers/rocker panels).

The more I look at both hoods the more I like the non-vented hood only because the vents on the Extreme Composites hood doesn't really flow with anything on the car IMO. Now the Specter Werkes extractor hood flows with the car.

If you want to talk about something that looks like a cheap, glue on vent, I'd point at the Extractor.

Yeah those vents on the extractor are a cheesy version of ctsvr or whatever hood not to mention will cost you a whole left nut. SW porducts are for people not looking to find a bargain and bend over and apply the lube themselves. Like their flare package fk knows how long it would take to make that **** fit yet I could prob buy 3 civic full body kits for the same price. Glad you showed me the lip cause I was really liking it on their website on that silver v but in your pic above makes it look more like a snow plow to me. But then again we all like what we like some more cheese than others. IMO you cant really mess the car up regardless what you do its still going to look pretty nice. Just dont be putting decals the size of the hood on there)
