Isn't their diff close to 2K ? The difference between the full kit and the other is $2k. Besides the nuts and bolts what else is missing from the half kit ?

What did that run ? With the built outer CV's you don't need to take your stock ones apart ? What else did you need to buy to complete it ?

Thanks

Your gearing choice has less to do with your engine and more to do with how you intend to use the car.

If your ultimate goal is lower drag times, a lower gear is what you'll want to use to get off the line faster. 3.55 would not be a good choice there. 4.10s or deeper is recommended. Tire height can be chosen to with a gear calculator to find the ideal gear & RPM you cross the 1/4mi finish line in. http://www.tremec.com/calculadora.php

If you do mixed daily driving in the car and also like to hot rod it a bit (clearly, based on your engine) a 3.73 is a good compromise of both low end and reasonable highway cruising RPMs.

If your car sees a majority of highway miles but you like accelerating through long sweeping curves and rarely do any actual racing, then a 3.55 is a good choice.

it’s mostly for drag racing when you say lower gears you mean like 3.25 ? Or 4.10

If you’re drag racing you need to figure out your trap speed and final gear. If a longer (3.55) rear can save you that last shift that can help your decision. A shorter gear (4.10) might help you accelerate quicker on paper but it could cause you to spin easier and also need an extra shift before you clear the traps

I've been very happy sticking with 3.73s in my setup with 28" tires. I've been 164mph in the 1/4 so far, going through the traps around 7400 rpm. I'm willing to spin it upwards of 8,000 before changing the gearing, we'll see if it wont go 170mph this year. I couldn't justify going to a 3.55 until making 1500whp or so.
