yes, but some smog shops will still pass you... it just depends on how knowledgeable or much the guy really cares.

There actually aren't any smog legal high flow cats for the V1 either. But there is really no way for them to check when they smog the car. My RT cats are just a little smaller (actually a lot) than the stock ones, but they are in the same location so they don't notice.

Some members here have gotten away with it. There are also some zip codes here in CA that are exempt from smog. If you register the car in one of those areas, they never send you another registration with a smog requirement.

You know which zip codes those are? i think it's about time i get a PO box somewhere...

Is it possible to establish a residence in another state or something with a relative? When I lived in California I was a Montana resident which negated all of these concerns. Best of both worlds.
