I had a Fidanza 6.5 twin disk, but when I blew my engine I found the clutch wasn't in the best shape. I talked to Fidanza and they had stopped making / servicing the old 6.5 and 7.6 clutches. But, they hooked me up with a deal on an ACT twin disk.

Mine's a T1S rather than a T1R, and I only had about 150mi on it before I had to leave my car for a couple months, but so far, so good. ACT has a very good reputation with other makes, so I don't anticipate having any issues with this setup in the Caddy. It's got their lightweight steel flywheel, rather than the aluminum flywheel that the Fidanza had, so it's heavier (the old Fidanza setup was ~33#, the ACT setup is ~47#), but still a heckuva lot lighter than the stock boat anchor. I think as I get more time to drive the car I'll appreciate the added weight in the flywheel for ease of driveability.

will that ACT twin work for a LS1 style fbody? if not, can it be made to work? I have a friend getting rid of one for $500 w/ flywheel.

Id bet the ACT Twin would work on an LS1. It works for the LS6 CTS-V1 by adding a slave spacer.

I have the ACT Twin T2S-G01 in my C5 and I don't like it. Has 2k miles on it now. It drives ok and feels fine, more pedal pressure than the textraila I used to have.

However.......it is noisy as hell on take off about 1/3 of the time. ACT said that it was "normal".. Not chatter, but a groaning. More annoying than anything else.

Running a Tick adjustable master to see if that made a difference, nope....

I won't buy again. My buddy had a T1SR-G01 and it didn't last very long. Both of these cars were modded C5's. C5 and F-body use the same exact clutch.

Looking at buying a CTS-V here shortly, and would go a different route if I were in the same situation again.
