Hey guys I just picked up an '04 V and was wondering what this noise could be. When shifting I heard a thump coming from the rear. Am I not shifting correctly, or could it be something else. Car has 80k on the clock and is bone stock. Thanks!

You need a new differential bushing.
It's best to go aftermarket because the new OEM bushings don't last very long.

Really though this is what you need:

Order the bushing and block from creative steel and you should be good for a while.

The install sucks, but its worth it and itll cure your problem. I just did it. Part of it is how you shift as well though. With the CS bushing in there, now I can hear the bolt holding the bushing in place make a click sound if the shifts arent perfect. Its part of the V character.
