Nothing special. Just eibachs, KWB rear struts, and cnc steel cradle rings
Thanks I can't wait for real racing weather. Gonna do my best for that 11 second slip on street tires.

Thanks guys. I've changed a new things this year. I added factory ported AI heads, and new cai setup still using the factory airbox. Saturday was just to get an idea of what to expect this winter. My runs were on good old Nitto NT555 tires (275/40/18) doing a healthy burnout in 2nd gear to get them as hot and efficient as possible for the track's surface. I also iced the intake manifold inbetween runs, but by the time I did a burnout, coolant temp was already 186. So I'm not sure how much that helps.
I rode out the clutch fairly quickly from 4000 rpms, followed by stabbing the throttle as soon as I felt the rear planted.

So are you running a cam with those heads or what? Whats all your mods?
Nice track times man.

I plan on going the track this month on my KDW's since drag radials are f'n $$. So should I not heat them up that much?
I still don't understand the whole 4k launch procedure here. I'll be on street tires, so what rpm would be best for launching? I have the 9" rear so not worried about that.

I launch at 4,000 rpms, slipping the clutch. I have to launch at 4,000 due to my light weight flywheel, and h/c combo. My powerband starts at 3500 rpms.

I see you have heads, but what all your mods, and when you are power shifting, do you let off the gas a little bit or do you just keep it pegged the whole time and bounce off the rev limiter?
I have a lightweight FW, but have stage 3 Monster clutch, so slipping at 4k is going to be pretty hard for me. What clutch are you running?

I got the monster stage 3 as well. It has taken lots of practice to get my launching down, but I'm pretty good at it now. It's sweet spot is very narrow, so be patient. When I power shift, I keep the throttle stabbed. I don't hit the limiter. If I do, then that shift becomes pointless, since the whole point of "powershifting" is keeping engine rpm at the highest possible point without a reduction in engine power output, thus producing a "push" each time you complete a powershift successfully.
Feathering a monster stage 3 clutch on street tires isn't very difficult with the right reflexes and practice.

Having moved from the greater phx area I really miss firebird. That place was very well managed. Hopefully I get to bring my duramax back there soon for some mid 12 second runs.

They must be making a killing on those commercials about them wanting to loan you cash at 140% interest.
