Default Went to the dragstrip Saturday

Car ran phenomenal. Very happy with its performance tonight, especially for the very hot weather. D.A was 4,442, with a temp of 97 degrees at the time of my last and 102 degrees the time of my first run. Runs were on street tires and a 4,000 rpm launch.

1st run was a 12.6@116.5, 2.1 60ft, had to let off the throttle going into second gear a bit due to severe wheel hop. Second run I tweaked my tune for max effort and was congratulated with a 12.1@118, 2.00 60ft, power shifting every gear. Yea, I was desperate. Lol

11s n/a shouldnt be a problem this winter, that's if the rear stays intact. LMAO

And a gopro video of the 12.1 1/4 mile run...

Insane time on the stock drivetrain.. that 60 ft is solid for a V1- i think the record is 1.8 on a stock diff

I think he has a MS3 cam and full exhaust, i remember seeing a video thread a while back, sounded like a beast..

Thanks guys. I've changed a new things this year. I added factory ported AI heads, and new cai setup still using the factory airbox. Saturday was just to get an idea of what to expect this winter. My runs were on good old Nitto NT555 tires (275/40/18) doing a healthy burnout in 2nd gear to get them as hot and efficient as possible for the track's surface. I also iced the intake manifold inbetween runs, but by the time I did a burnout, coolant temp was already 186. So I'm not sure how much that helps.

I rode out the clutch fairly quickly from 4000 rpms, followed by stabbing the throttle as soon as I felt the rear planted.

Awesome time! I hope to run a similar time with mine when I finally get around to going.
Why are you doing a burnout on street tires?

Yep, spin city on nitrous and street tires. Spinning horribly through the first three gears. Lol my goal is 11s all motor, street tires.

For pictures. Plus, it just plain grips better. Can't launch at 4,000 rpms on cold hard rubber. Trust me. I've already tried. Lol

Yeah, it looks cool, thats about it. Street tires get greasey when you burn em that long. All u need to do is spin em just a little to get the dirt off of em. Same thing with dropping tire pressure, it doesn't work and you get less traction.
