Unhappy Car is Gone!

Picked up my Silver/Black CTS-V on 3/30. Wonderful car, wouldn't trade it for no M5!!! Broke it in to about 500mi, and man is this car sweet. Got it up too 145mph without even breaking a sweat (although the oil temp said differently). I noticed that the oil seemed to overheat pretty quickly and C&D had the same problem. I wonder if the oil sensor is bad. Not too worried about it because Mobil 1 has a high temp point of 410.

Well anyways, I was coming home Saturday night and a lady ran a red light and clipped me at about 40mph. My Car is pretty much trashed as you can see. Right now Progressive is saying that they will possibly try to fix. I will know for sure by the end of Wednesday. If any of you guys have any thoughts or know of any reccomendations as to what I should do, i really would appricitate it.

BTW, I'am fine except for a few scrapes and so is she.

Right now, I get to drive around in my clapped out 240sx, so I am really missing my V. Hopefully I can get this resolved soon.

Thanks guys !

Man, I sure hope they total it for you. I can't imagine that car ever being right after that much damage. Good luck - but definitely push for it to be totaled if they don't go ahead and do so.

I sure as hell wouldn't want that car back. Since the lady hit you, I'd pursue her insurance company to replace the vehicle or pay it off. Why should you have to drive around in a $50K car that has been repaired from that condition?

I would definately push for a new car. The lady that hit you must be totally at fault, right. My sister got hit from behind, not very hard at all. The damage was minimal. The other guys insurance, Progressive, called her and made her take $500. She told them that she was fine and had no problems at all, they insisted. I know that they just wanted to stop her from sueing them in the future, but still. I hope that everything works out for you. Glad to hear that you are OK.

there is no way I would allow the car to be "fixed" no matter how good the car will never be the same, not even close.

The car is a goner.

I too, would not want the car back. I would fight for a new replacement since what you had was pretty much new.

The frontal impact caused me to bounce off her front end and then the car smacked her sideways. It really is a complete mess.

The insurance lady for progressive also just now saw the pictures you guys are seeing. All she had to say was "wow". So now they are saying its borderline totaled, but they still want to rip it down and double check a few things. I am pretty sure they will total it out though.

But anyways, my dealer being the great guys that they are, will be able to get me in a car in about 2 weeks again!!!

Thanks for the condolences ! I really appreciate it !

Glad you're ok. Anyone you can walk away from is a good one. DO NOT let them repair this vehicle. You had a new untouched vehicle and you want a new vehicle back. Plus I want your rear rims for drag radials.

Glad you are okay.

That car is totalled it has too much frame damage. That car is so new that the cost of fixing it will be very high.

Thats horrible. I have trouble looking at it, it must be horrible for you. DO NOT LET THEM REPAIR IT. Your car obviously has serious frame damage, if you have to sue the woman directly and her insurance company.
