Vette/GTO LS6 water pump differences?
So finally back home still need to change my water pump just wondering if anyone has used the corvette or GTO water pumps on the V? If so what is the difference? I have a buddy that works at a parts place that can get me a really good deal on the non V water pump. The cheapest I have found the V pump is $120 on rock auto but it's rebuilt. I would rather go new but for the new delco it's $210.

I have a Camaro pump on mine. Biggest diff is the pulley. The V one is much narrower than the Camaro or Vette pump but it will work. It is a pain to get in there but it can be done. Works fine. One thing that did concern me was that my car was running normally at 194° but would go as high as 230° in traffic or if idling long so I put a 160° thermostat from the Camaro in as well cause my water outlet was broken. Now my car runs around 175° normally but still gets up to the same 230° in the same conditions. Still comes down quickly once I am moving but wish it didn't get so high. Car has not been tuned for the 160° thermostat so maybe that has something to do with it.
