Default Engine Bay Paint Re-Styling

I did some painting of my intake manifold, throttle body and the plastic front cover that I thought I would share as it turned out fantastic.

The paint I used for this project was VHT wrinkle (also used on my valve covers, great stuff) and Duplicolor Red Metal Speck & standard gloss black.

Engine Cover Steps:

1. 3 coats for a base of the Red Metal Speck then allow to fully cure

2. Placed a vinyl Cadillac and LS6 decal down

3. Spray 3 coats of gloss black over decals and let fully cure

4. Remove decals to expose the red

5. 1 thin and 2 very thick coats of clear with quick spray times between each coat to created a cracked look and allow to fully cure

6. After drying I masked off the areas over the decal then sprayed 3 layers of VHT wrinkle paint. [\List]

Results:

I also powder coated my calipers yellow, put black Brembo decals on the sprayed clear over which I will share in another post.

You should hit it with another coat of clear or something to make the masked areas around the Cadillac and LS6 blend in, but otherwise I think it looks great.

It has by a considerable amount! I also had the throttle body ported by Cory at LS2 Port Works out here.

I fabricated it up myself and had it powder coated black, incredibly stronger than the tin can one that came with the car!

Thanks everyone for the compliments!
