The actual D2 coilover group buy!
#41
All pm's and emails have been sent to the list with the final details! Deposits will be due by Friday at noon (western standard time) to seal the deal in your involvement of this group buy!

Seriously people? Only six deposits!!!? WTF?! Well I for one do not plan on organizing anymore group buys with this type of reponse. Had everyone wanted in but when it came time to pay they flake out. whatever.
#45
Understandable. But these guys made a commitment already knowing this. Why waste my time and theirs to say they are in on wednesday and out by friday. Its just frustrating. Also we were just doing a deposit of 200$ the big part comes the 2nd week of jan so...

also we payed via paypal, so you can rest easy. if there is ever a problem paypal get the buyers money back asap.

I would also like to hear feedback from the 10 people who are in on the group buy. I had my mind set on getting these shocks but I would like to hear some more feedback since the lower rate springs are only available in this group buy

Really? That's your response?
I just gave you useful information (a community service), and because it doesn't support your plan, you crap on me? I didn't take the pictures. I don't own a set of these things. My only desire is NOT to see you wreck your car or get hurt if a coilover mount shears under load. If those pictures concern you, the proper response is to go find out exactly why those failures happened and make sure that they won't happen to you.

Look, while I do not disappreciate the pictures and opinion, do I find a bunch of GC failures (sure there are a bunch) and post them in you GC group buy thread? This thread starts off with "Please do not post here unless your serious about participating in this group buy." Simple as that.

It looks like you have done some research. Either way, you should post your findings with plenty of detail how and where you got this info in this thread. https://ls1tech.com/forums/cadillac-...coilovers.html
Unless D2/K-Sport's coilover durability on our 4000 lb platform is significantly better than it has been on 2500 lb imports, some of you may be in for a world of pain. Snapped adjustment rings, pitted shafts, rusted springs, sheared mounting tabs...sometimes after only days of use. That said, I hope that you provide me wrong. Best of luck, guys.

While I have no doubt in the quality difference between k-sport and KW coilovers, I've been more than satisfied with the quality and ride of my k-sport over the last 4 months.
The import community that you pulled all those pictures from isn't exactly known for their professional installation abilities, I'm willing to bet a good number of those failures come from 16 year old driveway installations. In addition there are 1,000's upon 1,000's of these setups running on import cars, you're bound to find a handful of google images of failures because they are way more common that ground control. A lot of these kids put coilovers on their Accord then take their ride to the track and beat the **** out of the car.
Not that what I'm saying undermines the potential for Taiwan made products to fail, but keep things in context. You're talking about $900 complete "coilover" and strut setup, we are well aware they are not KW track quality.
just my .02 cents worth.
