I have made some progress this weekend. I yanked the engine and transmission and proceeded to start swapping parts. I changed the cylinder heads and cam. I bought a new GM LS6 pump and I took it apart and ported. I shimmed the pressure relief spring for a little more pressure. I bought some button headed bolts for the oil pump so they would clear the cover. I ground the lower corner to fit the pump.

Finally a picture of my engine back in the car. I am leaving tomorrow for Barrett-Jackson so when I get back Sunday I will get back on the car.

What water pump is that on there? How do you plan on getting the upper radiator hose to fit?

Also I figured out what length pushrod I need. I used a adjustable pushrod and set in for 7.400 and checked preload with a dial indicator. Ultimately I ended up ordering a 7.375 set of pushrods. Than length gave me between .072 and .075 worth of preload. I am using LS7 lifters on a custom grind Comp cam.

Crap, i didn't even notice the water pump inlet is on the wrong side. That is kind of cool though since I have a LS2 in my Chevelle with the correct water pump. I will swap pumps because the inlet on that side actually will work out better for the Chevelle setup.

I will sure post all the info up once I get dyno tuned. I am thinking it wont be till the end of the month. I am out of town this week and I have the pinewood derby for my son's cub scout pack next weekend. I will get the car done and roughed in tune wise but I will let the expert finish it. It is a little beyond me right now.

I think 450 is a good goal.. I am doing h/c setup on my car and I'm hoping to be in the 450 range also.. I went with the victor jr intake I'm wondering/thinking it might be worth a few extra hp over the ls6 intake/fast route. Should know soon.. I will be checking in to see how yours turns out.

I got it fired up last night. Fired the first time I hit the key. It sounds great and has a nice choppy idle. I have the stock injectors and MAF right now. I received my top mount spacers for my LS7 injectors today and I need to order a piece of 4 inch straight air intake tube to connect my Volant air box to the new 90mm TB. I bought a 4 inch Ford MAF adapter to bolt it to the air box. Unfortunately my slave cylinder is leaking so I will have to pop the trans back out Sunday. I am having our Cub Scout pack's pinewood derby at the shop Saturday so I won't have it on the road till Sunday. I will try get a vid and sound clip tomorrow.

Not true I know I saw a stageup recent post of a 12.1 run on an all N/A ride. Granted he's got the magic stick in there and its the best launch i've seen on a V1.

I am going to get the correct injectors and then I need to look into deleting the ugly *** evap system. This is a cold start and it I have the idle turned up until I can get it tuned.

I could listen to that idle all day man. Thanks for posting. Can't wait to see the dyno sheet and hear it post-tune.
