How much power will I have?
I am about ready for my major overhaul over the Christmas holiday. I have been collecting parts and am ready for the swap. If you guys don't mind would you estimate what you think I will put down? Mods are going to be: CNC 243 heads flow 295/220, MS3 Cam, LS7 Lifters, Comp Double roller, new LS6 pump, ARP Pro rod bolts, Harland Sharp roller rockers, new balancer, waterpump, FAST 92mm intake, LS2 throttle body, OBX headers, 3 inch custom exhaust, Monster clutch. I am yanking the engine and trans to do all the mods to make things easier. I am doing everything all at once so I can have it dyno tuned afterwards. You guys think it will do 450rwhp? thanks

The cam seemed like a good choice. My rationale is that while the power is up in the band and the car is kind of heavy it will help to keep it from breaking traction and be easier on the rear diff. I didn't think the cam was way out there at 112lsa and .609 lift. I guess if it doesnt work out I could swap it.

I was just curious as to how much power I will make. I want it properly tuned otherwise I might not even have it dynoed. One the the big things for me is to turn back the clock on my nearly 100k mile car. With brand new heads, lifters, injectors, oil pump, balancer, alternator and water pump as well as the improvements in power with the heads, cam and intake. If I have 450whp that equates to somewhere around 500 flywheel HP and that is impressive to me. I have spent right at $3k with careful shopping and buy a few things used as well as a buddy in the parts dept ( ex. $122 for LS7 lifters). I can't wait to see how the cam does both performance wise and how it sounds. I could have bought a supercharger but I have went that route before and I wanted something different. I think I have done a good job by not just sticking a cam in there and getting all the supporting mods to install with the cam. And I disagree with the statement that it is a modded LS1 for these reasons : LS6 starting in 03-04 has full floating wrist pins, different block with increased internal ventilation to reduce crankcase pressure, and coated pistons. Yes it is, however, the same displacement. I appreciate the replies and hopefully it will be finished and dynoed around the first week of Jan.

Just don't be surprised if you end up with 20-30 RWHP less than you're hoping for. I went in hoping for 450 RWHP, and came out with 422 RWHP. Hence the 418 CID LS3 with LSA heads going into the car this winter.

Yeah the real number I want is the quarter mile time. I would love to be 12.50 or below but I know that isn't going to happen until I get a better rear differential.

I personally think you'll be close depending if its gonna be a max effort job. As far as the ls1/6 debate, lets be real, it's the same motor. Sure the ls6 may have updated internals but what engine doesn't somewhat get freshened up throughout the years

I say approx 440rw/400tq. I made similar numbers in my c5 about 7 years ago with my old combo. Similar mods and cam. Negligible differences in ls1/ls6 once you pull the top end of the motor off.
Not a big fan of the MS3 or the like to a 346ci setup. Had one and driven a few others.

I looked at dyno charts of the Streetsweeper and the MS3. I understand that unless the conditions and dynos are exactly the same there could be some differences. What I believe I saw was the 2 cams peak in HP and Torque in almost exactly the same place and power under the curve as very close as well. Maybe there is something that I am not seeing. School me.
