Default Pink / tan headlight

I thought I lost a ballast when my one headlight went from white to pink/tan color. I took both lights out (sucked) swapped the ballast from side to side and the bad light is still tan/pink. I thought if the bulb failed it would just go dark.

I thought I would replace the bulb but looking into the house it does not look like anything I have every scene! High beam looks normal but the low beam is in some housing wit a metal box on the end.

Thanks for anyone who can chime in.

I was talking about the box around the bulb, just the type of bulb. Yes the bulb is probably shot. Search, but I THINK it's a D1S bulb.

When HID bulbs start going south they turn breast-cancer pink. Typically takes them quite a while to actually die and turn off...

This. Odds are its dropped from the stock 4300 output to lower, which is why you see the pink hue

Any tips on removing the bulb from the housing? It does not appear to twist out like a regular bulb. Do I remove the tork screws way down the bottom?

The D1S bulbs are held in with some spring clips that latch to the metal housing of the bulb.
