agreed, with a good tune you can be at 450-475rwhp maggie only.
Add Headers, heads, cam and exhaust and you're looking at 500-525rwhp. Thats a lot of $$ for not much HP.

For the rear, I would get a wheel hop axle and call it done. Especially if you only do 40 rolls, you'll spin through the top of 2nd and get traction in 3rd.

ok maggie=6500$ New + 500$ tune total =7,000 beans.

My heads, cam, intake, TB, dampner, lifters, rockers, pushrods, porting, headers, oil pump, timing chain, and more, with the tune, is going to be around 5500-6000$ total. And should be in the range of 425-450 hp

Just wanted to weigh in. Plus I have read that the maggie is power limiting once you get to a point?

My vote would be heads cam route. Then add a 100 shot with the grand you saved from the maggie and bang, killing that maggied car. After all that it is time for forged internals. and a 200 shot !

Why would anyone do a Maggie when you can have a TVS 2300 for the same price and a little elbow grease?

Because used Maggie's are selling for $4000, where can you buy a tvs 2300 for that price? Find me one, I'll buy it tomorrow...

It would be nice just have have a TVS 2300 kit instead of having to piece one together. Why does getting a cool car have to be a pain in the *** ALL the time. If I had a G8,GTO,Corvette or a Camaro modding life would be so much easier..

The OP posted $6500 as a price point, which is the price of a new unit. I agree, I'd get a used Maggie (in good condition of course) if I was looking for 500 whp or less.

If you're buying new, $6500 for a Maggie kit is really quite ridiculous. I got my E Force 2300 TVS for $5,150 and have probably near $6500 in the entire build, which includes all kinds of crap I never should have bought in the first place...and the second HEX pump for $180 after I didn't set the shaft seal properly and filled the pump motor full of coolant....ughh.

But like I said, gotta put in the elbow grease.

I dont see where the OP said 6500...at $4000 the Maggie is a nice upgrade but paying full price is ridiculous. That being said it's a easy install for someone of your expertise but with down time and labor an E-Force build is a costlier project.

Long tubes first, muffler delete, and then the maggie. I would not waste your money on a cam after that because you wont pick up the hp to justify the money spent. The maggie maxes out way too fast to bother with a cam.

My bad, that was NICKDSC5 not the OP...regardless, $6500 for a Maggie 112 is more than the market will bear. I agree that $4k is appropriate for a Maggie in good condition.

Agreed.

In the grand scheme of things, you can install headers before the Maggie without a tune, but not the other way around. The Maggie requires a tune...so it may in the OP's best interest to do the headers first followed by the Maggie and tune.

Nitrous vs FI has been raised, and it begs the question: What is the OP intend to do with his car? ... and I'm talking track vs street.

H/C and nitrous fits best where you're running at high RPM for much of the time like on the track (road racing or strip), and a maggie (and also largely a TVS1900/2300) fits best on the street where there's more low and mid-range RPM running and the maggie's tendency to heat soak in much less of an issue.

So, what's the intent and maybe we'll be more in agreement here.

Not going to the track, autocross or quarter mile. More for just street. So I don't think nitrous would be a good option.

More for my own personal blasts on some open roads and a occasional street kills (god willing). Looks and sound while driving ect.

I love the sound of supercharged motors better than listening to the radio if you get my drift.

Be splitting the driving time between two cars to keep my mileage down.

Any chance there's a maggied V near you that you could ride in or, better yet, drive? I can tell you that you'd love it. For example, I can take off leisurely, shift into second gear at 1800-2000 RPM, press my foot to the floor, and the 275/35-19s in the rear light up ... that's how much low-end torque it has. Needless to say, street driving is a real gas.

I have driven a 04 with 40k miles with a maggie..So yes it is my ultimate goal. I have also driven V2's and they are much to docile in stock form for my taste.

$6500 K and self install is no picnic for the pleasure though. If it was $4k it would be my first mod for sure.

Tough to come by on the used market these days. There was a time when they'd pop up from time to time and they'd be $2.5k-3.5k, but not lately. If you get wind of one, jump on it fast. Self install is a piece of cake. Heck, even I did it.
