Default power steering pump

ok so i got stuck in the snow last night and needless to say my engine was seeing alot of rpms. i put a new ps pump on about a month ago and now it seems like there is no pressure. when im at a dead stop it is very difficult to turn the wheels. Did I kill the pump already?

Sounds like it, maybe you got a bad one. Who was the manufacturer for the new pump?

I remember living in north TX for a bit when they got hit by a blizzard and people were redlining their cars trying to get out of the snow banks and just digging big holes with their tires. I'd walk up and tell them to not let it get above 2k rpms and showed them how to rock a car back and forth. They thought I was a magician or something.

Anyways good luck with your pump I'm sure it was a defective unit.

i got it from gm. and i tried rocking it but it wasnt doing any good at all. every time i would go backwards i would just get dangerously close to the ditch. so i just gave it hell and got it outta there. the first one was whining stupid loud. im sure i couldve changed the fluid but i wanted a whole new unit. this one never had any problems until i got stuck.
