Default Ls7 throw out bearing/slave exploded

Well it's just my luck an I want to shed a little helpful info if it happens to u. Like I said my slave and bearing exploded... Don't know why(prolly beating on the car). I replaced the slave with a new gm ls7 and thought I was good. Well the clutch wouldn't disengage fully. Since the ls7 is self adjusting it must have adjusted for the bad slave. I had to remove the clutch and reinstall it to get it to work properly.

It took me two times of pulling the tranny to figure it out so I'm just trying to save u guys some work in the long run. Here the carnage

That's crazy! Did you measure when you put the slave in?
I'm curious to see what number you got.

Honestly.. After ripping it apart once and putting it all back together.. And having to do it again I didn't measure .. I just reset the clutch and everything adjusted itself after 20 miles or so... I do beat on her pretty good. No crazy clutch dumps or burnouts, just power shifting at redline and the such

I had the exact same thing happen to mine. All the ball bearings even hit my old aluminum flywheel and dinged it up pretty good. I bought mine from a dealer and they replaced it under warrenty.

yea,i honestly think the slave is either a bit too long or too short. i just didnt have the energy to sit there and measure after ripping the tranny out twice off my back.lol

I measured everything out when I installed my SPEC 3 and Fidanza aluminum flywheel and the LS7 slave was perfect. Don't recall the numbers but everything was well within spec and mine failed. You figure how many of those things are made, they are bound to have a few failures.

Man with enough of a beating, anything will fail! I just chalk it up to "u pay to play"

Were these GM or aftermarket slaves that had issues?

You put it in neutral and keep your foot off the clutch when you stop right?

Stock and depends. If the light has been red for a while I'll leave it in gear but for a long light I might put in neutral.
