I thought you had a tune? If so, your "Open Loop EQ" (cold start adder tables) require adjustment. This is a PITA b/c these cars warm up so quickly.

Yes, under acceleration but when you stop the car the engine will drop RPM to about 400 to 500 with no misfire. The MAF volt is all over the page.
I'll pull a plug tomorrow. Im running NGK Iridium IX TR-55IX plug. I have about 60k mile on the plugs now. Same with the fuel filter.

I had the car dyno tuned back in 2010.

Check for vacuum leaks in the intake manifold. Make sure verything is connected/plugged as it should.

Changed the driver side plugs last night.
Went for a test drive. The car feels better but came to a stop and the idle drops.

The tips look normal to me; the threads look terribly greasy though.

Change the other four.

Wires?

Mine started doing the exact same thing.

I have not checked for codes, but about to replace the plugs and wires.

I am going to clean the IAC and take a look at the MAF.

After cam install, all was fine. Then did LS7 clutch w 20lb flywheel and FAST 102 at the same time. With the AC off it is barely noticeable. However with the AC on, the car hunts for idle really badly when pushing in the clutch and coming to a stop.

Also RAF in the colder ECT areas... not many 'tuners' bother with those as well.

Follower / cracker tables / RAF / spark - all in the calibration...
Different tables are looked at over 3km/h (off the top of my head).

I really ought to get into tuning for myself. My tuner is kind of an old school / drag racer / F-body type that doesn't seem terribly concerned with driveability. At the same time, I'm a scientist that does a lot of detailed technical work, including with computers. I feel it would be easier for me than for others. What's do I need to start tuning, and what can I do to learn?

I'd purchase HPTuners and then get to reading, I have the HPTuners portion, just haven't done the reading.

There's an awesome write up on starting to tune with HPTuners that's named CPIG HPTuners guide. Here's a link to it that I have saved on Google Drive.

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1ih...it?usp=sharing

It really breaks down each section and where to start with things. Hell of a write up overall.
