Diff broke, new setup makes good power...
#25
The reason it broke was because i tried to do a burnout with a shot diff bushing, instant wheelhop and break. I boosted it all day prior to that + 2 easy rolls at the strip before the last one. I knew better than to try the burnout, but ignored my own judgment.
My 2nd run was 12.58 @ 127 with a 2.5+ 60ft, spinning throu 3rd...I felt like if i could just do one solid pas i could get in the 11's.
Looking like i might be doing a 9" might have a deal i cant pass up; close to the same price as 8.8

Good luck with the rebuild...and do that set up a favor, and just build up the drive line to handle it.

I don't know about you...but at your power level, I would be pissed with only an 11 second pass, and fuming about a 12.58. 127 mph is a LOW 11 trap speed, at least when it comes to to younger, bigger sister cars. Hell, I have seen some guys go 10.9x with a high 120 trap. With that being said, your car is no doubt a highway monster...and if it was my car, I would stick to roll races. It only took my breaking one axles at the strip to never take my 2007 V back again.

Yes, either a 9" or 8.8 is in the very near future along with a swap to a smaller CTS brakes in the rear, with the trailing arms from CS and all that I should be able to get some serious meat on the back, with the car weighing in at 4300+ its still gonna be a fight but we'll see what it does.
My main focus is gonna be the texas mile, invitational and tx2k streets... but a 9.9x would be nice too, but that wont be anytime too soon and will probably require an auto.

Those are good focus areas...haha. And doing an auto swap, with you set up will drastically improve you times for everything. Within the V2 community, an Auto V2 will be about a second faster (in the 1/4) than a Manual of similar power levels. And with a Turbo set up, it would be even better, since you will not lose boost when you pop in the clutch.

This a actually made me choke on my drink I laughed so hard. You have honestly done a hell of a job taking this build to the next level and I can't wait to see what you have to finish everything up. I agree the auto is the way to go, the 4L80 will fit with minor mods.
The auto V2 has a 4.00:1 first gear ratio, no surprise how they pull off low ET's with lower MPH. I'd suspect your lighter V1 would pull similar ET's even with the gearing disadvantage.
