LG Motorsports Coilover review
I with a few others have purchased the LG coilovers and I will add to the list of reviews that have been posted for these.
I will say from a built stand point these are built very very well. I would venture to say of the 100's or coilovers I have handled in my lifetime these are up there. That also seem to be pretty rebuild-able looking at the parts that are assembled here.
Some pics ( not all of the best quality)
one key is to remove the middle rubber bearing. this would need to be pressed out....dont ask how i know.
And i followed fuzzys thread about getting new end links and adjusting them so that they are as horizontal as possible.
I cut them in my kitchen while my wife gave me the evil eye....hence the not smooth cuts.
Il'' update this with some more pics of the coil overs and my ride height. For some reason I am unable to find them right now on my pc.
From a ride stand point these are great. I havent taken them on the track yet but i have done some canyon work, good and bad roads etc, it is pretty solid in all those regards.
My only issue with them seems to be the noise these coilovers make during compression and and rebound over high frequency road events. For a while i was getting a squeak and a clunck from the rears as they moved up and down. I thought it was my end links so i took those off and my sway bar to isolate the issue, and it is still present during certain road events. And i think my noise issue might be coming from the top mount design. I think during compression the shock/strut moves/slides on the rod which gives my the minor squeak i hear and it contacts the end of the upper mount.
from the side view
So far i have driven the vehicle a few months with the coil overs and maybe 3 weeks without the sway bar and the noises are still present. I have tried using some white lithium grease as a test run before going to heavier grease to get rid of the squeak. I wonder more about the clunk that i get over very sharp road events.
So i will post more pics soon, but have any of you guys with a similar coilover set suffer from any of these squeaks or clunks from time to time? Any LG owners wish to chime in?
