Default oil burning

Have 152k on the bottom end. By the time my oil percent get to around 65% it says check oil level. But I don't notice my car smoking upon start up or while driving. Think its time for a rebuild?

Pull the plugs and see if they are ridiculously bad looking. Rings could be wearing out but truthfully id run it till it gets worse. You could also do a compression and leak down test.

Sure you just don't have a leak some where? Apparently my car smokes a little under some heavy acceleration even after fresh oil changes. Do a quick rev and have a friend check.

check the valley cover vent and the valve cover vent, if these are switched you will pull some oil through.

The way I bought it they had the valley cover and the valce cover are tied in together and connected to the vacuum port.

I'm assuming you have an LS2? GM has stated some of them 'consume' oil naturally and that they require additions. I did get that same message, but it had been about 5,000 miles on the current oil

valve cover goes to TB, valley cover vent goes to the side of the intake manifold. That may be your problem.

The oil consumption was an issue since the release of the ls1... Some LSx motors eat oil, some don't. Just keep an eye on the actual amount it's using. If its like a quart every 3k miles that's too much.

Really it's all in the valley breather design that gm did. When ur beating on these it does create alot of static pressure and pretty much forces the vapor up stream. My car has been pretty bad since I've started really spinning the blower.. Only case vents are the valve covers lol. My catch can collects about a qt every 3k but I change it all the time as well.
