Default Unsprung Weight Reduction: 09-13 Forged Aluminum Knuckle?

Hey,

So, we have cast-iron knuckles. They weigh a LOT.

After talking to the lead designer at Speed Tech Performance, he recommended that I try installing the forged aluminum spindles from a 2009-2013 CTS-V on my car (which might require purchasing second generation upper control arms, since they use a threaded bolt to hold the upright in place), or contacting LG Motorsports to see if they might consider fabricating them for us.

What do you guys think? About 10 pounds less unsprung weight on the front wheels, plus potentially more room for larger wheels. Anyone know why this isn't possible, or why we shouldn't be pursuing this already?

Be worth measuring out, curious to see if they shift the wheel towards the motor or away from it. IF they did shift inwards you could always throw a spacer on it, outwards would bring some problems. Interesting idea though.

Same dimensions height wise?

If you did it, it would be a good time to swap to some v2 hubs to get better wheel options.

I'd be interested in doing this. Factory black V2 wheels are sexy....

If this could happen, I'd be interested. I have been wanting to see a V1 with V2 sedan wheels on it!

Agree with all above, this would be the perfect opportunity to swap to 5 lug. Still have to find an option for the rear though.

Amen brother, besides then you would have to spend the money to swap the rear hubs, and rotors as well.
