Do you have one I sent with two black bushings in the base? The black delrin ones I make to replace the Hurst nylon ones will never wear out. The stock Hurst bushings are known to fail and I had seen some failed from the factory. I started replacing them 100%. If you have the Hurst bushings I will send you a replacement one that I made.

Payment sent! Requested black **** and the other stalk modified for original v-****.
Can't wait!
Question for all though - does it make more sense to replace the trans mount now, or with new motor mounts? It's not overly worn or anything, just didn't want to skip it if it's easier installed with the shifter torn down. Motor mounts are SHOT and are next on the list.
Thanks,
KZad

Installed mine last night, holy **** what a pain in the ***** to do by yourself. Ended up getting it done though, and god damn what a difference. The shifts are so much shorter I actually tried going in to reverse the first time I went to go in to 5th lol. I thought for a minute I screwed something up and lost 5th for some reason until I realized it was like 2" more to the left than with the stocker in there. Friggin crazy how terrible the stock shifter was. I also like the little bit of added noise it introduces in to the cabin

Hurst shifter for the 2004-2007 CTS-V.
Got mine installed about a month ago. It's a night and day difference. I just shipped my old stalk back today to get modified so I can use the original setup.
The only thing left is a little bit of left to right slop while in gear. But I fear this is in the transmission or somewhere down the linkage line. Does anyone have any fixes for this?

I've had this shifter installed now for a couple of months. This is a great upgrade. The slop in the shifter has been greatly reduced and the throw is short and precise. Brian great to deal with.

I just picked up anow 05 V 2 weeks agof with a terrible fake wood grain shift **** and a ghetto adapter on the stock stalk, its all gotta go. Plus it's got a lot of play side to side and in gear. Been researching since I got it and only read good reviews about your shifters so I think I want one.
How do I order and what all do I need to make it shift tight and remove play and slop?
I'm coming from a Trans am T56 with a short throw which had no linkage and was a super tight shifter, so the V shifter is new to new to me.

The Hurst will remove all the slop associated with the shifter itself. What's left will be from the ball & socket joint and molded in plastic bushing at the trans end. Both require removal of the trans to fix.
Unfortunately, because we have a remote shifter and your T/A shifter was a direct mount into the trans it will never feel as tight.
Send payment via PayPal by Friday night for the discounted price of $255. My email is br_1868@hotmail.com (br_1868.....). Please make a note on the transaction as to whether you'd like a white or black **** and also verify your shipping address.
