Default Rev Limiter in 1st?

Is anyone else hitting there rev limiter in 1st? I don't have an issue in any other gear, but it feels like it hits early in 1st(roughly 6000). Is the tachometer that slow, or is the rev limiter lower in 1st? I have HPTuners and can't find anything that stands out, seems like all gears are set to 6600.

My wife can assure you that it's not 6,000. She hits the rev limiter in 1st every. Fkking. Time.... and acts like it's all surprising that it got up there that fast or something.

I noticed that too but don't rev it out all that often. I assumed the car accelerates faster than the tach can keep up.

I cant say i recall ever hitting the limiter in first. Maybe you're getting a little wheelspin?

This seemed to happen more with the stock clutch. I have a ls7 clutch with 28lb flywheel and it revs up pretty fast but I can't remember the last time I bounced it of the limiter.

Mine does it all the time, usually when the tach says 5500. I scanned it with HpTuners and the computer says its at the limiter so the analog tach just can't keep up.

I must be short shifting and leaving a lot on the table then, I do have a tune though. But mostly the car gets highway miles when I do drive it

I don't think I've ever been able to hit the limiter in 1st. Maybe I shift early though. My car revs soooo slow!

How are you not able to hit the limiter...you are the one controlling when you shift. I assure you, if you just punch it and don't do anything else, you will hit the limiter.

Makes sense, it probably barely or almost keeps up from the factory. My HCI setup pulls 600rpm ahead and your 427 1100rpm ahead.

Agreed. I thought something was wrong, but after I saw it on the computer I am not worried at all. It just makes me look like I don't know how to drive and I like to bounce it off the rev limiter when I'm boiling tire. Lol

i generally smack it in 2nd when i am doing a pull against somebody and peeking at the tach. when i shift off feel i seem to never hit it. tach may even be slow in 2nd by a touch as well i guess.

I usually shift to second by feel a couple hundred before redline. 2nd gear is close enough to 1st that it pulls plenty hard when shifting to second--no need to take it that far in 1st gear. The top of 3rd gear is usually around the time I get close to or hit the limiter.
