Fuzzy has a temp strip in his trans tunnel. I've seen it in a few pictures. Is probably be hard to see it unless you lifted the car and got under it right after running it hard.

My .01, Save your money for the driveshaft, get the CS 8.8 bracket, axle, rear cover and driveshaft kit, build your own centersection out of a junkyard housing, and when you order the driveshaft with the 8.8 kit, get the DSS 1 piece aluminum. I helped design to clear any aftermarket shifter. Unless you are doing the texas mile with 800=hp, i really dont see the need for more. I did not get the Carbon Fiber because temps above 300 F can affect the bond on the carbon fiber where it meets the ends. And, our exhaust runs right under the whole length of the shaft.

I have temp stickers on both ends of my Driveshaft and they haven't registered anything worth noting. I also spray painted my exhaust with header paint and wrapped a couple sections with DEI titanium wrap near the driveshaft areas that are bonded.

Heat shouldn't be an issue.

There are 3 locations you can try:

Once you get temps up high enough to get a reading on all strips, you should be able to establish the relationship between the driveshaft temperature and the shifter location, so that you never have to get under the car to check temperatures again.
