Default Forgestar F14s & Michelin PSS – pics

Here is the finished product:

Here’s some wheel & tire reference. The OEM highlights were the previous tire sizes I had all the way around. I chose an overall diameter that is ~1 inch larger than what I had previous.

Here it is. I chose the tire sizes in the highlights above for the Forgestar F14s. All the info is there. Notice the center caps. These are the ones that fit flush.

I wanted some lug nuts that would compliment the new wheels so I chose McGard. They look awesome and also prevent any scratches during install.

This photo shows the difference between Gorilla lugs and the new McGard splines:

Here are the 285s…steam roller!

On the left are the rear tires (285s) and on the right are the front tires (245s)

Here is a comparison of the Forgestar (rear 285/35) and the OEM (245/40).

Here is a comparison of the Forgestar front/rear:

Here is a comparison of the factory wheel and the Forgestar – before and after:

Here you can see the transformation:

Look closely, the right 285, the left 245:

Here are some shots after the Forgestars are completely installed:

Supporting mods include:
Creative Steel trailing arms
Creative Steel 8.8 kit w/upgraded axles (the flush Forgestars center caps fit perfectly on the front and rear)
KW V3 coilovers
Z06 endlinks

Here is a walk around:

Thanks to those that helped make this possible. I've laid it all out to help others.

Who did you order them from I thought they stopped production? And if you don't mind price?

Looks great man...one word of advice, buy two of the spline drive installation tools. Its a bitch when you lose one and need to get a wheel off...ask me how I know.

I purchased mine from Presence Distribution - they have a few sets for the V1. I believe the price is ~$1600 and covers shipping cost.

Clearance isn't an issue with the CS trailing arms - plenty of room. I have the poly bushing arms.

How do you like the gearing change from going from the small diameter tire to slightly larger than stock in the back?

I run a 27.1" tire and I love it. Oh, and your car looks sick from all angle. It's going to get a lot of compliments.

Originally the V1 comes with 245/45 tires which comes to 26.68" overall diameter with factory wheels. I had 245/40 which were ~1" smaller than factory which came to 25.72". So the tire selection with the Forgestar wheels comes back to overall factory height...very close.

I thought the factory wheels and previous tire selection made them look tiny. I wanted to fill all that empty space and get some meat on the rear. The height of the coilovers, suspension tuning and supporting mods gives all the clearance I need with absolutely no rubbing in all kinds of driving. It's a very street friendly set-up and perfect for daily driving.

It's definitely a head turner! Some shout out but most just give that subtle head nod of approval.

I had to get the spline lug nuts since yours look so good. The spline tool didn't get good reviews. What do you think of the durability of the tool? I ordered it but also ordered the gorilla one too. Car looks good man...

I haven't had any issues with the tool. I spin the lugs on there holding the tool in hand then give it the final torque sequence with a torque wrench. It really goes pretty fast so I didn't analyze the spline wrench - it just works. I probably should buy another one, one or the tool box and one for the glove box.

Thanks for the compliments!

I ran the same black two piece mcgard lug nuts on my subaru. They were spun on and off countless times, subjected to crazy heat cycles at the track and salt spray all winter long. After about 5 years, they still looked great and I never once had an issue with the spline tool. Not sure what could possibly go wrong with it, but I never encountered any problems.

Looks good!

Can you measure how far the rear wheel/tire combo sticks out past the fender plane?

That's tough because to the eye it looks flush - up close and from a distance. I took a level and held it to the tire then measured the gap to the top and center of the fender it's ~3/16" of an inch.

If you watch the video of the walk around, you can see it looks flush.

I read that the Michies PS2 and Pilot Super Sport are amount the quietest road tires. The Super sport is a tad better than the PS2 but they are also more expensive...

I've got 285/35 in the rear too. I want to go wider now that I've got the CS LCAs. Next tire purchase.

I just looked up the STS-V wheels. I guess I wasn't paying attention that the rear rim is 9.5". No wonder I almost look like I'm 'stretching' (not really, but the sidewall looks rounded vs flat) the 285:

I'm also running a spacer back there, so wider & remove the spacer & I still might be able to tuck?

You can get them directly from Forgestar. I have the same setup on my V and the PSS are amazing. My car is pretty stout putting 475 to the wheels and these tires will hold the power.
