Yea, I'm in the same boat. Took mine out again and started looking at it a little closer and it has a big gap on the leading edge on the drivers side. Not sure what to do with it either. Could try and rework it with glass and paint, but that sort of defeats the whole point. I do appreciate that someone is attempting to help the community, but it won't be on my car like that.
All of my edges were smooth including the seam. And for the most part, even just laying on the trunk with some of the old foam tape it sits pretty good.
Not sure if getting it unfinished had anything to do with it...
...... mine does not look like that...... sure wish it did. Unfortunately mine appears to be off by more than just the thickness of the finish. Unless the finishing process somehow warped it.
